Weston Pass Sign

4x4 pass, summer cache only. Easy to find once on top of pass.
Top-O-Weston Pass is a 4 wheel drive vehicle pass. In the past it was easy going up and down, now you will need 4 wheel and some clearance to get up, many washed out areas and mud.

This is a summer cache only, too much snow in the winter up on the top if you make it with a snow mobile.

Items in cache are fools gold, toy am. flag, garter, pin, red toy car, candles, the guardian travel bug & Ellie the travel bug.

One of my favorite roads! Especially in the fall. Have seen moose lower down in the past, but not today. Thanks for the cache. Took out a bottle of water and a cigarette as didn't think appropriate for this cache.

A very windy day with some heavy rain showers in between showers I went for the find. Found it, opened it up and took out the log. In bright red writing it said Mt Evans. Did I make a wrong turn? But in dull blue writing it said Weston Pass. TFTC

Fun trip up here with Java Chip. We came from the Leadville side, drove the road about 6 miles and hiked the last 4. Met the new owner of some land near the top of the pass. Had no idea a fire was growing just on the other side of the ridge. Java Chip saw it on top of Ptarmigan Peak and came straight down the west side back to the car. Spooked a herd of about 100 elk. So many surprises on what we thought would be a simple geocaching journey. Hopefully the fire will be out soon. Thanks for putting this up there!

Marma & I got to take the Geopups Blue and Athena on there first camping trip. The summit must be the highlight of the trip watching them run and play all over the tundra and little lakes up there. We even saw a very large herd of elk a mile or so away Mmmmmmm maybe 400 to 500 with many calfs

I'm glad this cache brought me up here. One of the most beautiful spots I've been in a long time. Made good use of the rental 4x4. My two goals for the day were to get above the timber line and find some leftover snow. Did both here.
