If you lost the cache item, I'm sorry but I have a better use for it. Hopefully, you won't need it later. From this place, there is an awesome view of something many in Co Springs look at. There are even a few who will geocache it. Whatever you do, enjoy the journey to this spot. Crank it!

Estes01 and I scouted an alternate route to this one today. It worked pretty well but it didn't cut off as much distance as we thought it would. We did have a good time exploring the area. There are nice views from up there. TFTC

Maybe the underground, underwater route would have been easier. Dragging scuba gear up 2000 feet to put in would be grueling ... or perhaps you intended us to swim upstream like salmon? In the end, we decided on the old-fashioned hike approach and ended up doing 6.8 miles. The snow was several inches deep toward the top and we could see a lot of disturbances from recent mining. But the snow covered all the amazonite, topaz, and fluorite so there was no point in stopping to sift through the tailings. Neither of us could reach the cache from the ground - we made sure when we touched the cache, there was no path to ground so we lived to tell about it! Interesting container...a first! TFTC!

4.5/4.5...excuse me. I will say no more. Anyway, I always need a jump because I am only 5'2". In the tradition of the CO, we picked the worst day and worst time to do this cache. There was a lot of graupel shortly after we started, the wind was blowing and we couldn't find any trail for the snow. I fell into a hidden mine shaft and fortunately Ernie66 was able to rescue me. My feet and hands froze up and we were discussing the possibility of a Blackbird rescue. I mean, come on! I have connections...

Logging this cache retroactively - the CO let me tag along when he placed it! (Does that mean he's Amps & I'm Volts? Or the other way around?) I'm cracking up at the listed attributes. I only noticed because I had just run a pocket query looking for specific attributes and this one popped up...what?! While it certainly was a misty day (perfect for a long hike in the area), I don't remember swimming or requiring SCUBA gear...must have done this cache the wrong way...hmm.

The CO is significantly taller than most of us, but he was considerate enough to have me beta test the cache to ensure that our more petite friends can sign the log as well. Hopefully the miners in the area don't get too curious about this unique object. Thanks for placing this one and for the good hike somewhere other than GMF! :-)

FTF!

There are several ways to attach this hillside to reach GZ.

I figured that I would have some snow and ice to deal with, so I came prepared for both.

Anyway got to GZ and on the way I trying to imagine what type of container it could be and have to deal with.

I got a chuckle as I made the grab, making sure that I was not grounded in any way for a safe retrieval.

Thanks for a fun hide to hunt up and some great exercise to go with it!
