Third in the history in stone caches
Again, no name, you provide that. If you don't know the history behind this, email me and I will provde a short history, and give you a site for a more complete history.

To prevent internet finds and memories, email me the name written in stone immediatly to the left of this site.

Dec 4, 02: I have included the name of the person I am looking for in the hint, this is to be fair to those that don't know local history or are from out of town.

Greetings from Beautiful British Columbia! Off on a 10 day, 9 state geo-adventure with kteeeee, Laphamclan and MissPeach13. Many thanks to all of the COs for placing these caches for us to find and adding to our fun day. We used our CCC (Canadian Caching Crew) stamp or initials on all of the logs.

Today we headed to the oldest cache in Colorado and then changed our original plans to go to Mt. Evans as the road was closed due to snow and we were unable to do the caches there Frown We went through the city of Denver instead and stopped in Fort Collins for the night.

Answers for all earth caches and virtuals have been sent in by one of the members of our team.

Greeting from Winnipeg, MB, Canada!

Kurt B and I are returning to Canada after attending GeoWoodstock 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas.
We enjoyed finding some challenge caches, earthcaches, virtuals, webcams, high favourite caches and other caches on our journey back home.

The road back is never a straight line...some detouring.

Interesting reading info at GZ.
KURT B sent in the answers for both of us for this virtual.

Thanks for adding to a fun day of caching!

Last time I was at this grave there was no informative plaque, so I took a pic of that, spoiler free. He's quite a character and legend to Colorado history. He even has a cafeteria named after him, lol. I have visited the infamous eating grounds, outside of Lake City Colorado along the Silver Thread Scenic and Historic Byway. A great road trip with Mountain views and history, if you're in to that sort of thing.
Thanks for placing this cache, it was a lot of fun to rediscover!

MPLC

Our English is not perfect, we use Google Translate to help us ...

Our journey began last August 22 and will take us to visit twelve US states and two Canadian provinces ... Our departure was from Baie-Comeau, a city on the North Shore of Quebec and then continue for a few days in Quebec City where we did some Geocaching .... Then we stopped at St-Eustache and Ville de Laval, still in Quebec, and then flew to Portland, Oregon... We made stop in Umatilla on August 28 still in Oregon, August 29 in Boise, Idaho, August 30 in Twin Falls and August 31st we are in Salt Lake City for two days... The 2nd of september we were in Rock Springs. Wyoming and the september 3 the road brought us to Laramie, Wyoming... On September 4th and 5th we were in the Colorado Spring area, CO ... Today we are heading to Fort Collins, CO

Throughout the trip we have targeted some caches that will help us achieve our personal goals and we will certainly discover new places that Geocachers here will want us to discover ... We have been planning this trip for several months and know we will not be able to not all see for lack of time ... There are many caches but we must close our eyes can not find them all ... But it is with pleasure that we will put our signature on some of them ...

Thank you for creating these caches that add smiles to our profile and make us have a good time regardless of the mood of Mother Nature ... Our log will be the same for the whole day and if there is a particularity we will add it at the beginning of the text ... Favorites will be added here and there for all the work done ... TFTC

On a Fall trip through Colorado doing some caching and seeing the sites. A beautiful scenic drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting the downtown areas of Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs to name a few. We enjoyed a beautiful hike on the Barr trail at the Summit of Pikes Peak. It was a wonderful trip with quite a bit of caching thrown in along the way. Another fun virtual and the last one for today as we are hungry (in a different way).

Out from Atlanta exploring Colorado with FLtravelers for a few days. He was able to finish all his counties, while I made more progress on the state. Lots of fun caches were found along the way, including this one.

Cool spot, interesting history.

Flew out to Denver with zanna to grab a cache in the smattering of counties I had left in Colorado. Along the route we stopped for highly favorited caches, virtuals, earthcaches, webcams, Colorado's oldest, and whatever else that looked interesting. This was certainly one of these. Great spot. I ended up on an epic adventure with yellowdogs and jREST. I really wanted to go and find GC19. So, I picked a five day stretch to make my attempt. I roped in a couple of caching friends into the misadventure and we were off with my two geodogs. The five of us made an interesting group. We drove over 3000 miles on the trip going out and back. Since we enjoy the same types of caches it was easy to come up with a list. We target the three main kinds of caches: oldies, virtuals, and earthcaches. We threw in a few others mainly to grab a cache in the 72 counties we headed through. Really got to light up that county map. Ended up with 152 caches in the found pile.

The first night was a little rough. We got a late start and headed into some heavy rain. We already had a hotel reserved in Sioux City, IA; so we knew we had to get there. Found one cache to fill the day in for me. The first day was spent caching our way across northern Nebraska. We had a line of counties that we wanted to grab. Some pretty country once you get further west. It is always nice to see the varied topography of the states we visit. After finding 35 caches, we called it a night in Scotts Bluff.
Day 2 dawned sunny, but cool. We wanted to get past Denver, but our route was longer than anticipated. So we ended up a little short. Got to see some interesting spots though. We hit the high point in Nebraska, cached along a lonely stretch of highway in Colorado, picked up some virtuals in the Denver area, before heading into the mountains for the Cache Across America. We continued exploring the mountains before finding a place to sleep for the night west of Denver.

On the third day, we made it into Denver after some virtuals and then headed south through the mountains to GC 19. We made it. The road was open and the weather perfect. Lots of warnings about the fire danger. We picked up a few other caches and even took a detour into New Mexico so yellowdogs could light up the state. Nice. I love it when a plan comes together.

Day 4 found us in Trinidad. We had a long way to go and a short time to get there. Luckily, at this point the route was pretty straight forward. We headed north roughly to Nebraska. We did take a detour to grab GC31. I already had it, but we were too close not to add it to the list. We ended up caching longer than anticipated due to a lack of sleeping options. Finally found a place in Thedford.

Our last day was short and to the point. We had a line of counties between us and the Iowa border and we wanted to find a cache in each of them. We found one or two caches in each of them before hitting the border at noon. Right on schedule After that, it was just a matter of beating feet home.

Thanks to all the COs that placed or created a cache for us to find on this trip. Without you, we would not have found have the interesting places we ended up. I couldn't think of a better way to spend vacation. We used our Team Barcelona stamp to mark all the physical logs.

We are getting pretty good at these history in stone caches. Ended up found a few of them on this trip. We found the name that was needed and continued our journey south.

Greetings from South Florida! I am in town and while I’m here I’m doing a little geocaching of course. My usual targets are virtual‘s, Caches for challenges, challenges out right, oldies, jasmers and anything else fun along the way. This Geocache is one on my list.

Cool!!

Thank you ahelir for placing this cache for others to seek, because if there were no hiders, there would be no finders- true story!!

This is my find 5867. If answers needed to be sent, they will be. Any physical logs were Signed as SWH and I replaced as I found it. All is well unless otherwise noted! Please excuse any of Siris typos
