Community Celebration Event

There are some lines in the poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost That describe my caching journeys:

Two roads diverged in a wood
and I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

My caching journeys started on Sept. 9, 2001. And on Sept. 26, 2001 I hid my first cache a 4D & 4T  Lions Ridge!!  My first find occured a week later on Oct.3 when I found GC17BB  and I was hooked, because this endeavour would make my volunteer hikes for the Canyon Lakes Ranger District  that much more fun.

Eventually I did my first event GC8253 which occured on 08/24/2002 when I had to move Pinewood Cache for the original owners due to problems with the location of the cache.

And the new location was on a Special Mountain !! where many more caches were placed over the years.

I eventually adopted this cache on 11/24/2004 when the original owners gave up caching.

In 2014 this video was created for this special event

Tahosa has allowed me to log an attended on this special cache. As he says it is the spirit of caching that is the special aspect of Geocachers.
Thank you Dad (Tahosa)

Thanks for arranging this event. It was fun meeting and visiting with a bunch of cachers.

Darn! I totally forgot to attend this one. Plus, there was a COVID scare within my department at CSU, but fortunately at this point it is nothing of concern on my part. I hope to make the next NoCO event.

On the way to this event I stopped and completed Tahosa's "#80 Birthday Cache." I thought I had left my house early enough to finish the cache and get to the event by noon. Well, my estimate of how long #80 would take was a little optimistic so I was "fashionably late." But I arrived in time to get a very close-up view of the band of bighorn ewes and lambs that attended the event!

It was a nice turnout and I really enjoyed catching up with everyone. Thanks for hosting this Community Celebration Event Joe!!!

I was a little late due to taking longer on my morning hike than I was expecting, but I was still in time to enjoy this nice event on a beautiful fall day. We also got a tour of the nature center by one of the park officers. Thanks!
