The vistas are spectacular this time of year with the trees just changing. Bear Creek Lake and the park to the west all the way to the foothills. The golf courses below and the city in the distance to the east. This cache is located on the south end of the dam, Access is available from the park or if you want to save a few bucks come in from the east parking is available at 39.39.986 l05.08.062 a little longer walk but there are two other caches you can snag on the way.

The cache is a one pound coffee can (camoed) with the usual goodies and a log. This is not a “cache and dash” but not a tough hike a mile to mile and a half according to how you approach . Not big enough for large TB’s but small ones and small trade items should work. Enjoy the cache and the views. Try sunset. Please make sure the cache is sealed when you close. With winter coming on I don’t know how well the container will hold up in the snow.

Apparently there is legal access from "It's all uphill" 0.85 miles from the other end of the dam.

DNF because I couldn't get close. Tried the approach from the east through the golf course access and the single track trail up towards the south end of the dam. There is no way to get from that trail to the top of the dam with out violating no trespassing signs. Furthermore, WARNING, the gate on that approach road is subject to some very peculiar closing times. Pay attention to the posted sign.

Out for a nice 6 mile stretch of the legs with Cash2021 on a mild Jan afternoon. The whole park was pretty quiet except for lots of ice fishers on the lake. Got lucky with this one and spotted the right rock almost immediately. TFTC

Yes, I hate rock piles. But I like a victory! Gorgeous evening! Took travel bug to put in trade items. Yikes. Travel bugs are a responsibility.

Found it on this beautiful November day. Left a trackable, had to take a golf ball to make room for it though. No horses?? HHMM (evil grin) Cache is in great shape with lots of fun things inside. TFTC

Since horses aren't allowed on the dam (why I don't know it's a road for heavens sake) This one has been laughing at me every time I've ridden here over 12 years. Today we met a coworker of my huggles to SUP giving us the opportunity to walk the almost mile down the dam to claim this smilie.

Wow, this one has not been found in almost 2 years.
But location is accessible and container is in good shape.
I do not like rock caches, but I love the view from this location.
The view and the hike are worth giving this a Favorite.

This cache takes a bit of planning, for a visitor to the area. I drove somewhat close, but couldn't figure out exactly how to get there. In fact, I think I might have been very near there, for another cache, years earlier - I remember being similarly lost back then. Plus a glance at recent logs confirms that it's hardly a park-and-grab. I'm down this way once in a while, so I'll plan ahead, next time.

Cache location should be fine - signs indicate that the top of the dam is open to public access and that's where the cache is hidden. See photo of sign at N39 39.688 W105 08.593.
Travel on top of dam is permitted. But no horses!
