Another 30cal ammo can from Grand High Poobah's Operation Ammo Can.
Located close to the Columbine Campground, the family sedan should be able to make it when the dirt road is dry - if you take it slow. Park near the fork and then a short hike uphill where you will be looking for an ammo can that contains a log book, pen and pencil, and a variety of trading items. Enjoy!

After riding the Miners Gulch loop I moved the trailer down to the Mt Pisgah TH and rode towards the CG down the 4WD road. I worked my way around to the old 2 track & out to this cache.

Parked at the campground entrance and hiked up to the two caches, about 2.5 mi roundtrip and on the road for 90% of it. This would be a great fall hike, one side of the road is pine and the other side is aspen and I spotted some big aspen trunks! A few hunters are finding this one and politely signing the log, pretty cool. Cheers!

Although the access road is closed it is a great little hike from the campground.

Made our way up the road from the cemeteries above Central City, planning to seek out this cache next. On Google maps it looks like the main road should fork to the left from the Columbine campground. It does, but is is very poorly maintained from the fork. We went in a little way and then turned around. Maybe it was just a bad patch at the beginning, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have 4 wheel, high clearance. We have a Honda CRV, but didn't want to risk it. Decided to explore the campground. It's nice and think that we'll definitely go camping here sometime.

Might as well walk further into the forest and get a little more lost. So find the cache first and then decide how to get back to the car, Did we really walk downhill all this way, it was an uphill climb all the way back, It was a nice adventure, however,
