I am a trail runner at heart. Ridgeline Open Space and Philip S Miller Park have some of the nicest trails in the metro area for running and mountain biking. With that, I have always wondered where this little off shoot trail went to so I finally decided to check it out. And, I found that it goes to nothing but a gate and the open space property fence line.

What a perfect place for a geocache!

Anyways, if you are lucky enough to make it this far back in the park, then there is something waiting for you - a hard search surprise. You are looking for a bison tube hanging in a tree about waist high. Hey, at least I made it a purple one and not camo cheeky.

Please respect our open space and only search for this cache during daylight hours as the park is only open dawn to dusk. In the winter, this may be harder to reach. There is no need to go through the gate or over the fence.

As icezebra11 reported, we had a great trip to Castle Rock and the Parker area today with his puppy Angel and my puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo. We met up at the ParknRide in Loveland at 6 am and drove directly to Castle Rock, starting our cache-finding hikes with the dogs at the Ridgeline Open Space, shifting from there to Miller Park for a long loop hike involving some fine caches, then heading back northward to the Parker and Centennial areas for some good targets. It was a very successful day of geocaching, despite the temperatures reaching at least the mid-90s while were were on the trails. At Miller Park the zip line activities were fascinating; I will need to return there sometime to do the zip line sequence!

On our way to the trail to nowhere we walked along the sidewalk to nowhere. Then we really started "up". Thanks for this cache, prerules! You found a great location out in nowhere.

Denali41 and I, along with his Lab puppies Zaba and Chimi, and my Lab puppy Angel had a great caching day in the Castle Rock and south Metro areas today, scoring on a lot of really nice caches.

Our first stop was to do some hiking in Castle Rock's Ridgeline Open Space. It was a really warm day on the trail. After finding the caches in the NW portion of the OS, we headed SE for this one. When we got to about 20 feet from GZ we were worried that this one might take quite a bit of time but Denali and I were happy that it was a quick search for us. The puppies weren't quite as happy because they really enjoyed the shade! Thanks prerules for placing this one!!!

Today is a beautiful January day, perfect for hiking the trails of Ridgeline Open Space. Quick find. Signed log and headed down the trail to look for another cache. Thanks for the cache - we needed this D/T combo to fill a square in our 4xFizzy.

Today was an abnormally warm December day and seemed perfect for a short hike. We saw one man on a bike near the entrance but he must have just finished.

The walk over to the cache took about 15 minutes and we were the only one's out there. There were a few different trails on the app but we took the main one and there was still a little snow on the ground in a few parts.

Once arriving at GZ, we saw a house in the distance that looked pretty nice. It had quite a few solar panels on it and I wondered how much something like that would cost. The cache was in good shape and is holding up well.

TFTC SL!

I was in the Castle Rock area and doing a little geocaching. This cache looked interesting so I went after it in a area which I never hiked. It's a nice open space. Thanks to prerules for the placement of it! All is well with the container and the log sheet. TFTH!!!

Thank you so much for this new cache in CR open space. Although they will not let me ride my horse here (CR wants to be big city) I do like to walk my dog here (but watch for speeding bikes through the thick scrub & tight turns). And thanks for the generous rating. I can search for several hours for a multi in Centennial & still have it only be rated a D2 T 1.5! And not even find it!!!
