I got the coordinates correct but the cache is missing. CO instructed me to log it as a find and that he'd check on the cache and replace it if necessary.

This is a challenge on several fronts but is also an opportunity to learn. But I need some help from the CO. I tried sending the CO an email but no response. I have determined coordinates but they are in the middle of the street. My error is likely the unit length which can vary depending on how many wood chips are piled up around the pole. An inch or two change in unit length can move me to the other side of the street or to the near side of the street. Either way I kidding myself as one side of the street is covered with low growing junipers.
So first it needs to be confirmed the cache is still there and second, what is the unit length. Because even with correct length you still have some work to do to figure this one out. Very good challenge indeed. So does anyone know tinytuttle who can get them a message? Thanks.

I attempted this field puzzle once before. I had the right bearing but the wrong Coba. Today I returned and found the correct Coba, did the projection, and found the cache. Well it took a little while before I found the cache but the projection was spot on. Cheers.

We struggled with this cache. 1.) It took us a while to understand why this owl flies differently. 2.) At stage one we were further confused by choosing the wrong "near" object. I suggest to put the coords of Stage 1 on the object to eliminate the confusion.
I learned a lot and did enjoy completing the cache.
