Welcome to the Colorado Geo-Poker Tour (CGPT)

In this geocaching game, you will be searching for CGPT caches. Each cache will represent an individual card in a 52 card deck; therefore, there will be a total of 52 CGPT caches hidden. As you accumulate more of the CGPT caches, the higher the ranking of your hand will become.

For example, let us assume that you have fond the Three of Spades, the Four of Hearts, Five of Clubs and Seven of Diamonds. As soon as you find the Six of any suit you will have a seven-high straight (3s, 4h, 5c, 6?, 7d).

Once you find the cache, sign the paper log and report the find on geocaching.com, you will then have that "cache card" in your hand. To add more "cache cards" to your hand simply find more of the CGPT caches.

Each cacher will have a different hand-value, based on which of the CGPT caches that they have found. If you are the first to find a CGPT cache you will receive a "FTF bonus point". Points will be used to determine the winner between tied hands (in other words, 2 players have a spade royal flush). The winner will be the one with the most bonus points (FTFs).

The CGPT will end on Saturday, October 11th. Card caches will continue to be accepted for your hands until Friday, October 10th at 8:00 p.m. local time. An event on Saturday, October 11th will be held to wrap up this competion, please see the event for more details.

Important Rule Update: To have your cards tracked (for the competition) your log must EXACTLY start with the words, "I want to play". If your log does not contain these words, your cards will not be tracked and you will not be eligible for the competition. If you should forget to put the words at the beginning of your log and you go back and EDIT your log, your play will NOT be tracked. Instead, you should delete your mistake log and repost a found log with the correct words. Thank you for your cooperation with this, it will assist me in not tracking cachers that do not want to compete.

Additional Requirements: Because the points only count towards bonuses that you will recieve at the event (and there's no reason to track your points if you're not coming to the event), you must post a "Will Attend" log on the event cache. No points will be tracked from this point forward until a "Will Attend" log is posted.

Found with dustyriver. We wanted to come up from Denver and attend an event in Northern Colorado. It has been a few years since we have, so we figured we would make a day out of it. We enjoyed all the finds and we really need to cache this area more often. Thanks for all the fun!
