This series of caches is placed along the old US-6 highway that connected Grand Junction CO to Green River UT from the late 1930s to the early 1960s. It was superseded by interstate highway I-70 in the early 1960s. This series of caches was placed on a section of the road that connects Mack CO to I-70 in Utah. The road is still used but the traffic is quite sparse. It is paved, but has it's bumps and potholes. Travel is possible with 2-WD vehicles ( we placed these caches with a 2011 KIA Soul). The route is 26 miles long and no services are present.

It is recommended that you take sufficient water and appropriate clothing for the time of year that you are caching along this route. Long sleeves and a pair of gardening gloves might be useful because many of the caches are placed within various desert bushes and trees. Desert vegetation is known for it's rough pointed texture. Appropriate footwear for the desert environment even though most of the caches are not too far from the roadside. It is also recommended that you remain aware of any desert creatures ranging from tiny bugs to Pronghorn Antelope that inhabit the area.

Caches that are hidden in bushes are attached with a wire hanger. The container can easily be removed from the hanger by simply lifting it out of the wire loop. It is extremely important that the container be placed back in the hanger to prevent desert creatures such as the pack-rat from creating their own cache of cache containers!

Having arrived in Grand Junction yesterday for the start of a two week road trip this was a series we noticed and decided to tackle. The scenery was lovely and the variety of hides kept us searching. Most caches were tied off with wire and relatively easy to find, some had dropped to the ground and required more searching in the thick bush cover. The rock covered ones were the easiest to find. We completed the series and were pleased to see we were in a position to get on to the interstate and head west. Greetings from Australia. Thanks to Charlie-n-Geri for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Geocache-Log - Deutsch

Geocache Log – English – sorry, with google translation

Already in 2017, Tschiggi and I made a trip through the West USA. Since we liked it so much, we booked another trip for 2018. This time we had specific destinations like the Yellowstone NP, the Seattle headquarters and various caches older date.

We started our adventure in Las Vegas, probably the craziest city in the world ?! ;-) Once more we were fascinated and did not come out of amazement. We also went to National Parks Capitol Reef, Cannyonlands & Dead Horse Point, Arches, Colorado National Monument ... in all the parks we could visit exciting and interesting places with Earth Caches and Virtuals. The many insightful panels helped us to find the answers to the questions.

So the journey continued via Salt Lake City to Grand Teton and Yellowstone NP, which was our absolute highlight. The many geysers and bubbling holes ... just awesome! Again, there are some great caches to visit.

Afterwards our journey continued north to Glacier NP and with a domestic flight to Seattle. We visited the HQ Tour and the headquarters. A great experience, which we never want to miss. We finished our tour in Portland, whereby of course the visit of the Original Stash, GC 12, GC 16 and GC 17 could not be missing.

We would like to take this opportunity to all owners who have taken the trouble to lay out a cache and some of them have been waiting and maintaining for 18 years. Many thanks and always "Happy Caching"!

To the cache: Wow what a trail. We saw a lot of rabbits and we were very frightened. But it was funny.

Thanks for the cache says Nudlä =) from Switzerland.
