The common name for the Red-winged Blackbird is taken from the mainly black adult male's distinctive red shoulder patches, or "epaulets", which are visible when the bird is flying or displaying. At rest, the male also shows a pale yellow wingbar. The female is blackish-brown and paler below. Behavior The Red-Winged Blackbird can be very aggressive while defending its territory from other animals and birds. It will attack much larger birds, such as crows, ravens, magpies, birds of prey and herons if they enter. Only on a very few documented occasions have they been known to attack humans who encroach upon their territories during mating.

Finally out here with my bike so I hit a couple trails and picked up some smileys. Brief visit to Denver and got out before the storm. Stamped log. So many caches, so little time. Thanks for your effort to place this cache and all the fun I had finding it. Don't Drink the Kool-Aid! Pura Vida! Live, laugh, love, cache.

Set out today with NTM at about 10am to hike and grab all 31 of the caches here along Buckley Road. Surprisingly, we found all of them. We returned to the car just before 4pm, so it took us about 6 hours to hike the ~11 miles. Mostly because we saw every type of wildlife that we could have imagined: eagles, a coyote, a fox, hawks, falcons, finches, rabbits, prairie dogs, deer and buffalo. One of our most successful days of caching ever, most of these caches were found in good condition. Thanks to everyone who placed these caches.
