Come says your goodbyes to David Vredeveld, father, husband, geocacher, haunter, neighbor and friend. David passed away on August 24th, after a nearly 2 year battle with kidney cancer. Instead of a funeral, (which he didn't want,) we are having a memorial. And what better way to honor and remember him, than by hosting an event for all his friends. This will be a Halloween themed BBQ, minus the costumes (that may be a future event). We will provide Dave's favorite peppersauce chicken, and some spooky sides. Please feel free to bring a side dish as well. We will also provide some sodas and water, feel free to BYOB if you want something different. Event starts at 3pm and ends at 7pm

Thanks so much for putting on this event for Dave, Everything was beautiful and a great tribute to Dave. He will be missed, his memories will live on forever. Great attendance by all. It was great to see everyone. It was good getting back to see everyone under these not so happy circumstances. Although everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, sharing memories and stories. Dave was a good guy. I am sure Dave enjoyed seeing us all come together, I am sure that is how he would of wanted it, to celebrate his life. TFTE KB/Witz

What a wonderful send off! An afternoon filled with friends and family, tears and laughter and of course, good food. I think Dave is smiling widely today and I hope all the kind words and love gave his family some comfort.

A beautiful tribute, thanks for opening up your home once again for all to share this event in honor of your beautiful family's loss. To watch the military honors was so special, and the memories shared from friends and family were equally touching. Great to see so many people here together having a celebration of life with good times and good eats (OMG that pepper chicken) I'm saddened for the loss to our geocaching community but I'm happy and feel lucky to have had the pleasure of knowing Dave, and still lucky to call his better half (Cathy) my friend. TFTE!

Such a sad and tragic circumstance for this event, but it was nice to see soo much love from everyone who came out to show support for this amazing family. We miss Dave very much. Thanks for hosting the event to honor his memory.

Out geocaching on this beautiful morning. Enjoyed walking around, making the finds and being out doors. Thanks for hosting such a special event to honor the memory of David. We were able to stay for over an hour and enjoyed the food and conversation.
