Took a backpacking trip up the East Fork, up the 14ers, and around and down the Middle Fork. What a trip! Did not think I would get out of the canyon, much less get to climb the mountains. When I got to the Middle Fork, found I wouldn't have had I just picked the other direction. As it was, I walked along the ridge to where it looked safe and sat down for a few hundred feet ride. Much easier on the knees than hiking down anyway. Some rather dangerous stream crossings on the way, but tons of waterfalls too.

Was sloppy enough looking at the map to think this would be the one thing on the way. Decided to drive out the other direction and see that and then decided to drive down the West Fork on the way and get it after all. Stopped just before the high clearance, 4x4 sign. A few others stopped just after, but that looks rough for taking someone else's Volvo over. Hiked the last brief distance for the find. Things are really getting gross in there, but the log is still on top.

Found while on road trip with my daughter, WingsAndTales, and friend, The Doll. Beautiful scenery---weather---and fun time. My first visit to southwest Colorado. TFTC.

I found this cache on a fall color/caching road trip through SW Colorado with my mom, CJ Tag, and our friend, The Doll. I found Owl Creek Pass on a list of recommended drives for fall colors and then started looking at what caches were in the area. We were a week or more early for the colors but this cache was a great bonus since it was just across the line into a county I needed. The cache is in rough shape since water is getting in the container. The baggie with the log was on top and mostly dry though. TFTC

Great day for a drive up the mountain. ..decided to check out this road. Stopped at a snow pile and trailhead about a half mile before the cache and walked the rest of the way although we could easily have driven closer. Cache is in great condition for not being found in three years! Coords are right on...found with c:geo on my Android phone. TNLNSL. TFTC!!

Got within a mile on the gps but the snow was too deep to drive further. Good reason to go back later in the season. Smile

Thanks for the cache. Coords were spot on. I could tell this had not been found in awhile -- it was very well hidden.

Bears have messed up this area, turned over everything, chewed up what they could and damaged a lot. Nothing close to the color or size of your cache could be found by me or my sister and brother in law also caching with me. Also, the sign for the very narrow road is no longer there. Views were awesome, bugs were bloodthirsty and the road was definitely narrow and rocky. YOu may want to check and see if your cache is even there anymore...watch for all the fresh bear scat.

This cache hasn't been found in over a year. Yes, the road is bad but the area has also been destroyed by bears. There isn't a stump or root that hasn't been pushed over, pulled up, chewed on, etc. We have two GPS units, accurate as can be and made a wider circle search to no avail. Nothing of the color you mention could be found; could it be your cache has been lunch for a bear? Not sure, but anyway we enjoyed the beautiful views and our Labs loved the creek.
