This traditional GeoCache is located on the top of Windy Peak at 9160 ft. elevation in Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Colorado. The view from this peak is absolutely breathtaking! Be prepared for a steep 3.4 mi. hike with a vertical rise of 1360 ft. Also be prepared to devote most of a day for this one, and bring plenty of water to drink.

To get to the trail head from Golden, CO go north on highway 93 about 1.5 miles and turn west onto Golden Gate Canyon Rd. After about 15 miles, turn right onto Crawford Gulch Rd, and then an immediate right, into the Golden Gate Visitor's Center. Purchase the $7.00 visitor's pass, and be absolutely sure to get a Park Trail Map (you can also download one from the park's website: http://www.parks.state.co.us/Parks/GoldenGateCanyon/MapsandDirections/Pages/GoldenGateMapsDirections.aspx ). Stick the Park pass on your windshield to avoid a parking ticket.

From the Visitor's Center, go east 2.3 miles and park at the "Bridge Creek" trail head. The trail used is "Burro". All trails are well signed.

The cache is a round Tupperware Container with a yellow lid.

Could not find the correct rocks to look under. There are thousands of them up here. Great views and a nice evening with Lidlove though...

Hiked up with my best bud and looked for a good 45 minutes. Made sure to expand my search and was very thorough. Looks like it might have been muggled.

Well I tried! Riding in the park today but horses are not allowed on the last 1/2 mile up so I left mine with the muggle while he ate lunch & I hiked up. I was happy to know it had just been replaced. But after looking for at least 45 minutes I knew I was out of time & luck. I had greatly expanded my search to no avail. Sad face. And it was dead calm on Windy Peak too.

Went to the jefferson county library and checked out the culture pass for the State Park. The pass lets you visit as many state parks as you want for one week. Since the cache was missing last time, got permission from the owner to replace. Thanks! Very busy here today, very popular place.
