Community Celebration Events - 2020

Join others for a 2-hour period for engaging in conversation and sharing geocaching adventures you've had over these first 20 years of geocaching!  Swap geocaching trackables and enjoy the mountain scenery from our deck.  It's a large deck, so there will be plenty of room for everyone.  The lawn immediately adjacent to the deck is accessible by wheelchair.  With this outdoor environment you can space out a bit as you visit and share.  If you care to snack or have soft drinks, be sure to bring your own. It might be good to bring mosquito repellant in case these pesky little critters are still active here at the end of September.

Attending and logging this Community Celebration Event earns you a special caching icon as well as a geocaching souvenir.  The event lasts for 2 hours, so come for a portion or for all of it.  Our farm is known as Falcon Ridge and it's permanently protected through two conservation easements.  It's a special place, and there are nine geocaches (six Traditionals, 2 Challenges, and a Wherigo) on the farm to find before or after you are at the event.  Finding them is not part of the actual event, but getting after them can add another dimension to this special occasion if you are so inclined.

This Event is part of a limited release of Community Celebration Events to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. Geocachers hosted events between May 2, 2020 and December 31, 2020. Learn more about Community Celebration Events on the Geocaching Blog.

Thank you to the Denali's for sharing their home with us for the event - what a beautiful property! It didn't take a group long at all to set out, finding the caches on the property. I've cached in the area a little but haven't attended events, so it was great to meet some cachers from the northern part of the state. LOL the first one I met was BugRanger so I had to call peace love pi to see if she could bring up our passports for the Across the Divide Geotours. Thanks again for the event and Happy Birthday(s)!

I have not been able to attend a Celebration Event yet and when this one came to be I know I had to make it.

I am sorry that I was not able to really enjoy the event with other circumstances I had for the day. One of those being I had never gotten the caches around Falcon Ridge and I used my whole time attaining though through the event. Thanks for putting this on for us to enjoy.

Even though my time was short to see the people there I am glad to see you all are doing well and safe from our current Covid and Fire ridden area at the moment. Travel safe and keep cacheing and I hope to see you all again soon.

I have a Celebration Event to put out and now have an idea and plan. Hope to get it out in the near future for all.

After learning of this rare Community Celebration Event, we made plans to spend the weekend up north. Friday we drove up from Aurora, Colorado, and staying the night in Fort Collins. We arrived promptly at 2pm and after a few meet and greets, headed out with a group of cachers to grab the caches here on this beautiful ranch.
Thank you Denali for hosting the event and the fun series of of caches! It was great to chat with cachers from a safe distance. Oh, and that carrot cake was AMAZING!
After spending last night in in Fort Collins we woke up early for the adventure of a lifetime - caching! I woke up early to head out of town for an Earthcache FTF. After swinging back to Fort Collins to pick up the Mrs, we signed several challenge caches and grabbed what we could around town before doing an Adventure Lab. We grabbed lunch at Big Al's Burgers then headed north for an event. The rare opportunity to attend a Community Celebration event is what lured us north for this weekend. Thanks to Denali, we now have one in the banks - and a handful of other amazing caches on his ranch. Then we cached around Wellington before grabbing a cache series north of the town, and finally making our way to Cheyenne, Wyoming. The only drawback to today was the suffocating smoke and falling ash. Sad, and all near the fires are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for the cache!

Thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to interesting geocaching discussions. Many attendees also went after and found the nine caches dispersed through the 35 + acres on Falcon Ridge. Denali50 and I are especially grateful to Tahosa and Sons for the marvelous, delicious carrot cake they brought to commemorate the September 20th birthdays celebrated by the two of us plus by Joe plus Donna, the wife of icezebra11. People feasted on this delicious carrot cake. We learned that Jbullfrog62’s birthday missed ours by only 1 day, but that his grandmother was also born, as the four of us were, on September 20th! We all visited in the wine colored smoke of the horrendous Cameron Peak fire, raging west of us after jumping the fire line at the Manhattan Road and suddenly threatening the entire communities of Red Feather Lakes, Lady Moon, and Glacier View. A horrific circumstance for so many. We were fortunate to be here reasonably distanced from the tragedy that is rapidly developing, with only deep smoke here as our pulse on the fire’s advance.

Again, thanks to all who attended this special event.

What a great event. Found your great caches with the group then we had a surprise! Yes we had carrot cake. I wish someone made me carrot cake for my birthday because it was delicious! Thank you for sharing your great property with us. Hope the smoke goes away soon.
