National Maple Syrup Day When : Always December 17 National Maple Syrup Day provides us with the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate this delicious American treat. This sweet and unique flavor originated in America. Native American Indians were the first to harvest and boil the sap of the maple tree into a thick syrup. Watching or participating in a maple sap harvest, or demonstration, is a fun late winter event. They are held in February-March, when the sap is flowing. It is educational for the kids, too. During field demonstrations, some of the sap is boiled down into syrup. Best of all, free samples are often giving, poured over a pancake or vanilla ice cream. Did you know? Sap of the maple tree, the same sap used to make maple syrup, makes a refreshing drink. Just put it in the refrigerator and pour a drink whenever you want. Or, have a drink as you harvest the sap from the tree! How do you participate in National Maple Syrup Day? Pour real maple syrup onto your pancakes or waffles. Or, for an evening treat, pour warm maple syrup onto vanilla ice cream. Please note, make sure you are using maple syrup, not pancake syrup. Unless the ingredients state otherwise, pancake syrup no longer contains maple syrup.(a surprise to many)

A beautiful spring day to be geocaching! There was an extra chirpy meadowlark nearby that I enjoyed listening to as I grabbed this cache. Thanks for hiding this extensive series, maybe eventually I'll find them all.
Cheers.

In pursuit of finally the Hidden Creatures, we teamed up with PayMeCache and Heh324 to complete the souvenir challenge. Who know this may help us later with some other crazy challenge Cache.

Some may say we are crazy, but this game/hobby is one of the greatest gifts. Who doesn’t love a great scavenger hunt. Hiking, biking or driving hundreds of miles to sign our name on a piece of paper. This brings us a lifetime of joy.

Thanks for placing this cache and keeping our recreation going. SL/with PoshCacher/MagicCacher.Tftc

Out and about on a Sunday caching run with the always cheerful herndonrd. We decided to head out to the plains because we felt like grabbing a bunch today. We managed to find and sign over 40 caches, which was pretty good for a few hours of "work".

I enjoyed watching herndonrd make the quick grab here, which he did for most of the caches we found today (Translation: I don't move fast enough). After we did the whole sign and replace thing we were back in the geomobile and off to the next one. Thanks for the fun hide and for your contribution to a great day of caching.
