My husband is my hero. We searched and searched and searched and searched this host poked and got poked. I said one more minute. For him my 1-minute means five so I gave it one more circle around the tree. He came over and said I may have spotted it. Then he proceeded to crawl in under the tree cutting his arm. And there was the container on the ground in the weeds. Unbelievable that he found it. We put it back in a more accessible spot. Now back to the car for Band-Aids. Tftc

I had to run an errand for my wife at the mall so I decided to make it a Sandhillers cache run! I remember when these first published several months ago because they're all fairly close to where I live. I've been waiting for a good time to get them. I had been waiting for the souvenir challenges for when I needed close caches, but I've already gotten the December souvenir and I have others marked for the Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 souvenirs. So why not just knock them all out now??

I admit I was a little nervous upon seeing the recent DNF on this cache, but I couldn't not try for it! It's less than a mile from me!

I definitely remember the previous cache that was here. As I recall, the previous cache in it's original iteration was one of the earlier DNFs I had on a Sandhillers hide.

And I HAVE been on Lombard Street several times as I grew up in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten the cache right by that street. Maybe someday.

Anyway, I knew I had a lifeline option if I needed it, but I was going to try and find it on my own. I searched. And searched. I expanded my search. I narrowed my search. Nothing. I wasn't quite ready to throw in the towel and ask for help though.

I took a different angle and approach and then there it was, staring me in the face!! I couldn't believe it. Talk about being hidden in plain sight! This ended up being the hardest of all the finds this morning (even though it was rated the easiest).

Thanks for the hide Sandhillers. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

Tonight we had the time to grab this hide. I have to admire this one gave us some fits. Wow that blends in so well. Thanks for all the hides before you guys head back south for the winter.

Some may say we are crazy, but this game/hobby is one of the greatest gifts. Who doesn’t love a great scavenger hunt. Hiking, biking or driving hundreds of miles to sign our name on a piece of paper. This brings us a lifetime of joy.

Today was fun. We started out attending a few events. At the last event I saw a handful of FTFs come out. I thought to myself, self, someone will find these before we are done. But low and behold this one was still unfound as we finished. We drove over to the location and I recognized the spot. I had looked for another geocache here... Maybe even the same name. Today I made the find. Technically I did not make the find, the better half of @2lablovers found it. CO-[FTF] with 2lablovers. Tftc!
