Scenic view  Significant hike  Difficult climbing  Available during winter  Hunting  Snowshoes  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Excellent location to see Pikes Peak from the south.

4"x6"x2" lock-n-lock container.  Container has a log, pencils and room for trackables.  We borrowed a page from ernie66's playbook and incorporated an anti-critter feature, so it is important to replace the cache as you found it.  Based on our experience with Pas Defense de Flumer and Defense de Flumer, this cache should be approachable with snowshoes during winter months. The trek is probably best made on foot, unless your 4WD has a lift kit installed.  A pretty good clearance is needed due to exposed rocks.

Unfortunately, SWAG has become soooo 20th Century, we decided not to start off with anything but TBs. So, PLEASE, don't leave your pocket trash (empty shell casing, bird feather, pine cone, washer, string, etc.) These kinds of "gifts" aren't equal to or better than almost anything but are being seen more and more, and are ruining the intent of that part of geocaching. Keep the container clean.

We have limited this cache to premium and charter members to acknowledge their support of the superb website we all benefit from, and to give the cache a better chance of surviving.

I finally had a free day to go visit this cache. It certainly is in a beautiful place! I attacked this one head on driving the truck 'till it was too icy, then hiked straight for the cache. Managed a great workout along the way. The views from up here are just incredible and the environs are awesome. Found the cleverly hidden cache and replaced it carefully. Everything is in good shape and should stay that way for years to come. Took pictures - left footprints. Thanks for a superb cache.

Just for the record, the road to this cache is much easier and quicker walking than driving. I seriously dobuted the capability of my jeep in getting up to the point where the road ended. It made it, but there's no way I could have done it without Ernie standing in front, directing. That was one tough road, and one of the few times I wished I had a Rubicon. You still have to hike the last half mile, but it's a fun hike and well worth the views at the end - that's the real reason I did it twice...and I would do it again.
