Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. However, this is where you will start your journey if you so wish to earn your 'golden ticket'. If so, take the glass elevator...

This cache goes out to Gene Wilder who recently passed away but left us with some classic memories that will never be forgotten.

There is no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining, is it snowing
Is a hurricane a-blowing
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing
Is the grisly reaper mowing
Yes, the danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing
Enter the tunnel if you dare.
Light your way 100 rings you say
See the Purple Mushroom, pass 60 more rings along the way
Climb up through the tunnel
Which way you ask? Follow the funnel

!!!Congratulations to the5millers, Posh Cacher and MagicCacher for the FTF!!!

I had attempted this one before but interpreted the last clue incorrectly. It wouldn't have mattered. I couldn't get into that spot on my own. I was able to help my daughter make the climb though. Tftc!

Now, the truth. Yesterday Benj59 sent me a text asking if we could join forces to grab a few @PayMeCache letterboxes. Of course I will! So we wrangled up @2lablovers and @WindAtMyBack for some afternoon fun.
Near the GZ we ghillied up in knee pads, headlamps, latex gloves and protective gear. Never know what you can catch when you're playing around in muddy tunnels. They can be so constricted. But some are massive, too. PayMeCache's tunnel was massive. We saw 5 or 6 kids coming out as we walked up. Then we went in. It was warm and wet, just what you wouldn't expect at this time of year. It wasn't big enough for all of us to enter at once. We had to come in one after another, like a train into PMC's tunnel. At first two of us could be inside, right next to each other. Then as we pushed deeper it became a 1 man job. Just a cozy comfy tight, fit.
PMC guided us with his safe written instructions to that precious package. It was a great first time tunnel experience and I'm glad it was with this gang.
There was an extra surprise at the end. But I guess I should have expected the tight curves in such a compacted place. It was so tight that we stopped the train and I probed a little further by myself. Carefully, I could sense I was near it. Just a little more, then the joyful explosion of happiness and relief when I held the cylinder in my hand. Soon all the others were exploding with joy! Stamped our names on the paper without getting it stuck to anything or wet, and I eased that little package back where it belonged.
I must say that we were in this one longer than PMC's other tunnel cache. But everyone left satisfied, if not a little tired. Tftc!

So close, yet so far. We crawled through this mud tunnel for nearly an hour. Back and forth, back and forth. We probed, but left with only a bitter taste in our mouth.

This was quite an adventure. Got a text from LID to join benj59 for this challenging cache. We all met and did an inventory - ladders, boots, gloves, flashlights, lanterns, rope - we've got this. Off the guys went - crossing the large smelly lake of water into the dark. Would they return? It took a while as there were two caches to get but they returned victorious.
An extra special bonus was we needed this DT rating. Only one more to go !!

I joined forces with Lost in Denver, WindAtMyBack and 2lablovers to grab these two Letterbox caches by PMC. This is by far the tallest storm drain I've ever been in! Which makes it a haven for delinquents and bored teenagers. As evidenced by the never-ending stream of "art." Some of it actually takes some talent. Other parts of it... just coming up with the nastiest thing you can think of!

I did the counting, on the second part of the riddle, and it was absolutely right on. And once again, LiD did the honors on the retrieval. Interesting spot here! Both of these caches were different than what I had anticipated going in. Fascinating how even in these spots, creative engineering is going on.

Thanks for the hide PayMeCache. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

Went out looking for geocaches with "animjason" on one of the cooler days in quite some time - this was the third of eighteen that I found. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

Don't look up purple mushroom on urban dictionary. Or do, I'm not your father haha.

This, and the accompanying letterbox, were awesome. Didn't bring any TOTTs other than my MacGuyver and monkey skills.

Plenty of art to "enjoy" along the way. Gets a fave!

Thanks PayMeCache! Logged Purple Mushroom Stamp from a ninth galaxy using c:geo!

I had the pleasure of assisting in the placement and beta-testing of this brilliant cache. We had a great time putting this together and I am glad that the cache owner asked me to be a part of this.

I also want to give props to the cache owner for the creative description and for the acknowledgement of the late, great Gene Wilder, who will always be Willie Wonka to me.

Thanks for the fun hide.

P. S. No animals (including humans or PayMeCache) were harmed in the writing of this log.

{FTF} @ 0730am.... first off this was one of the most fantastic letterbox caches I have found. Loved everything from start to finish!!! The riddles and crazy scenery we saw on this journey mad us laugh with pure elation. Glad we all the right TOTT’s along this adventure otherwise this would have been a bust. Thank for the time spent and the creativity of this cache and riddle. Definitely earned a favorite point.

Some may say we are crazy, but this game/hobby is one of the greatest gifts. Who doesn’t love a great scavenger hunt. Hiking, biking or driving hundreds of miles to sign our name on a piece of paper. This brings us a lifetime of joy.

Thanks for placing this cache and keeping our recreation going. SL/with PoshCacher/MagicCacher.Tftc
