A nice view from the cache. Several options on parking will vary the terrain from a 1.5 to almost a 3. There is a lot of cactus in the area, and this is rattlesnake county, so please dress appropriately and be aware of where you are walking. One day we were out scouting for a place to put a cache, and a dune buggy came flying (yes actually flying) over the hill. It went by us and shot off down the back country two track at about 60 mph. We were very curious so we drove up the two track. They came back at a much more reasonable pace (thinking we were going to be upset). We talked to them, and realized that they were almost out of gas. In exchange for 5 gallons of gas (that we had in the back of the SUV) they gave us a quick (and by quick I mean 60+ mph down a prairie 2-track) ride. We flew over jumps and drifted around every corner. I really thought my children were going to be orphans. What a great, once in a lifetime, experience. This cache is placed just above the two track that we got our ride on. Oh, and the name of the dune buggy? THE DEADLIEST CATCH - so how could I resist the cache name. If you can find it, the two track leads to about 100 feet from the cache. If you take the steep walk up, be sure to look to the west for the two track, and imagine the ride!
