5 - 10 minute easy walk through and beyond the Colorado State "Sapinero" Wildlife Area north of Dry Gulch Campground. Lovely trail through grassy gulch bottom flanked by rocky ridges and scrub oak groves. Abundant with birds and small scurrying animals. Elevation of cache approximately 7700'. The signal bounces around here and the cache is well-hidden, so YOU'LL NEED THE HINT FOR THIS ONE!
At the cache-site area, look for a cliff with a spectacular abandoned animal lair (aka packrat midden). Bushy-tailed woodrats build cliff-nests like this out of sagebrush sticks, live there for decades, then leave and move on to build a new nest elsewhere.

This cache is one of several caches around Blue Mesa Reservoir. Cache is in a metal box.

***Hunting Season Advisory***
Hunting seasons in Colorado are in September and October. If you venture out during hunting season, be sure to wear some blaze orange and be noisy.

Went for a nice walk to this cache after a cool night’s camp with our mini tent trailer. Good clue was essential and helpful. I would rate the terrain a 2.5. Here with HennyGeo on route home from visiting geofriends in San Antonio, TX. Greetings from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada TFTC Flutiste
