A little out of the way, but a great spot to stop to stretch your legs, and take time to reflect on some not so well known history.

In 1831 a draught in Wyoming caused the bison from Yellowstone to follow the riverbeds to the northern part of Colorado. The Crow Indians and Blackfoot Indians were staunch enemies that were typically on opposite sided of Yellowstone, but because the bison had moved to northern Colorado both tribes had to follow

One day in 1831 160 Blackfoots encountered 600 Crows. The Blackfoots took cover in the Natural Fort and a fierce battled ensued. When it was said and done all 160 Blackfoots were killed along with 40 Crows.

Through the years the artifacts of the battle have disapeared. There once was a sign explaining the history of the area, but that too has been lost with time.

Took me longer than it should have. First I found a mouse skeleton, then a few minutes later, the cache. I would have found it sooner if I stuck to the coordinates, but this area is pretty amazing and I got distracted.
Today is our last day in Wyoming. Yesterday I tried for a Whereigo in Cheyenne, but had no luck. One was impossible to complete and the other had a terrain rating that didn't seem fair for the 2 hours of driving to complete it. So I working on a few on the way to Laramie. Yatah! We spend last night in Cheyenne. Our plan was set - off to Laramie. An FTF, a few caches around town, a Whereigo, and we were headed back to Cheyenne for our return trip to Aurora, Colorado. Along the way we picked up an Earthcache, another Whereigo, and a challenge cache that I'll probably never qualify for. Glad it was warmer today than yesterday. Saw a lot of pronghorn and a few deer and hawks.
Thanks for the cache!

TFTC. Found with REW9828 and AngieFrog on the way home from Casper, Wyoming. Nice location. Nice history lesson. This area is indeed in need of a CITO.

Wow! An FTF way out here!
Asgoroth, Araqn1d and I stopped to find the nearby virtual while in the area on vacation. After grabbing the info we needed there, Asgoroth checked the map and saw a traditional cache right up the road! We were shocked to find an empty logbook online and in the container! Great hide at a really unique location. Living in metro atlanta (GA), I don't often get to discover this type of nature! Adding a favorite point. This would be a great location for a CITO too!

It isn't often I fly 1130 miles, drive 2 hours, stop for a random cache and it happens to be an [FTF]. Today was the day.

Soviet Duck approved this FTF.

Thanks for the hide and the thrill of the hunt.
