Congrats to harts dale for FTF!

The cache is placed to celebrate a cito event, Two Communities, One River.  The local community does a great job maintaining the roads and beaches along the river-  Heavy traffic makes it harder and harder to keep up with all the litter and graffiti.  So locals are joining forces with the geocache community-  we’ll teach them how to cache and help maintain Colorado’s natural beauty.

this medium sized container is located in DOTTS Park.  The “DOTTS Ladies” are a group of local women that take care of the community.  If there’s a fire or flood- or any other hazard- the ladies join forces to wet the need.  The group was founded in the 1960s-  the letters stand for Deckers, Oxyoke, Trumbull, Twin Cedars and Sweetwater.  These restraints and public spaces are gone now and Deckers is the latest be business left.  The other places have been lost to fire.

Take a minute to enjoy a picnic or let the kids play for a while.

Just dropping by for a visit. Catching up on all the caches I missed logging my walking stick.

TFTC! Had the day off and decided to drive 67N to Sedalia from Woodland Park and then on down the 105 to the Springs. The goal this year is to reach 1,000 caches. Cache is in good shape, signed the log and thank you for the smiley face on the cache map.

I was able to touch the container but couldn't pull it out of it's hiding place because the rocks, in front of it, had snow around them and were frozen in place. I couldn't budge them so I couldn't sign the log. Nice little hiding spot.

Bigfeeters, with my company, put this one out for the CITO event Two Communities One River. I didn't log it at the time so someone who truly found it would be FTF. Today my hubby accompanied me to revisit and log it. The cache and contents are in great shape. Thank you Bigfeeters for placing this cache so that we can play! Took nothing, left yen, signed log.

Second cache of the day in scenic Deckers. Nice container! Traded a little swag, stamped the log and dropped off a new trackable of ours -- a moose! "Morty from Northern Exposure" is named after the moose that walks across the street in the opening credits for one of my favorite shows, that ran from 1990-1995. Got the DVDs. Might have to watch that series again -- maybe once the snow starts flying. TFTC !

I really enjoy visiting this area and had to come and find the newish ones today. I found this one at 1:35 pm after a short search. Thanks for the cache and for making the area even more fun!

As I approached GZ, I was thinking it would be harder than it was. Found it right away though. Nobody else there today.

FTF!

I waited till it warmed up some before heading out to look for this one.

Not many days left for riding in the morning this time of year in the mountains.

I have stopped here before for a pit stop, not many know about this little park.

I forgot my GPS, but I kindof new the area and there it is.

Thanks for a fun hide to hunt for!

How does a geocacher not zoom in on his GPS to look and see if another cache is nearby!? Ugh! Missed the FTF of this one by only a few hundred feet! On my GPS map I was zoomed out enough that both flags were on top of each other. Completely overlooked this one! Oh well! No worries! I'll leave one FTF for the next person! ha ha ha! great adventure today!
