CONGRATULATIONS TO Tahosa and Sons FOR THE FTF!!
Ten years ago at about this time in September Tahosa wrote me an interesting email. Somehow, he had determined that he and I share the same birthday–on September 20th. He asked if on the occasion of his 60th birthday (and my 66th), I would lead a trip for the two of us to find Golgotha cache, a mountain cache that had been lonely for many years. “Certainly”, I agreed. But I indicated the challenging hike could NOT be on the 20th, because that was also my wife’s (Denali50) birthday, and she and I always spend our birthdays together. Tahosa and I agreed that the two of us would get after Golgotha on the 19th, a day before the three birthdays; we had a great outing together that day. After a long hunt in the GZ area we eventually reeled in that extremely well-hidden cache and felt good together as we signed the cache log. Now, 10 years later, Golgotha has been found only once since those “Found it” logs we wrote for it on September 19, 2007.
So...10 years have passed and a fine friendship has developed commencing with that tough outing for Golgotha and the comradery we’ve shared beginning that day. Recently I’ve been wondering what to do for Joe on the occasion of his 70th birthday...Well, this is my conclusion to that quandary: a good urban cache for Tahosa that will require a bit of contemplation by him and by other seekers.
Go to the first stage at the listed coordinates. It’s a virtual stage located adjacent to busy traffic. There is no need to step foot onto the road. Search around at the coordinates and locate an object that’s round in shape. This object, if used correctly, sets you on the course to get you to the final cache stage. When you arrive, be aware that the cache is well-hidden. Find it; then sign the physical cache log and in your Found it note consider offering Tahosa congratulations for attaining the marvelous age of 70 years old.
Yes, 70 years is a rewarding milestone to achieve over the course of a life! Enjoy this birthday and many, many more to come, Joe--and enjoy your urban Golgotha.
