This cache is accessed using roads that are easily traversed by any vehicle when it is dry. There is some wash-boarding. When there is snow, please consider problems. There are beautiful views of both the south and north valleys from far above; well above the top of Douglas Pass. Once at the cache, look northward. There are some slides that contains some excellent fossils. Bring tools to look for good finds. Further up the road is a FAA site that provides assistance for cross-county flights. The cache is well stocked with trading items for young and old. The view on the drive makes the search worth the time.
06/10/2014 By MoabLegs Round n Round I went in circles but I finally found the cache. Our journey here was for fossils. We definitely needed more than an hour here so next trip we'll plan on utilizing the wonderful campsite here and spend the day looking for just the perfect specimen.
06/04/2013 By DK_Titan This year's geocaching roadtrip was a roundtrip from and to Salt Lake City. Today we went from Vernal to Moab and decided to follow the scenic Hwy 193 through Colorado. This route offered many magnificent views and a bunch of nice caches. We went back into Utah via Interstate 50 and made a stop at Papa Joe's Gas Station at Crescent Junction. Ulf remembers this strange place from his visit 15 years ago. Nice to see, that there is now a great geocache here.
Before arriving in Moab we made it to the top of Molly's Sandbox (GC1QDZM), and in the evening we had a pleasant walk to caches in downtown Moab.
We decided to take a detour to this cache and it was definitely worth it! Great location. A favorite point from us! This log book was signed at 13:48.
