The road leading to this site takes off from the Alpine Plateau road. 2WD works to get to the cache, however to continue further a high clearance vehicle is needed.
The road this cache is on continues another mile before ending near the top of Mt. Baldy. The views at the end of the road are beautiful and is a good picnic spot. We also spend time near the cache at a stock pond located at 38 15.469, 107 21.637. During the spring run-off there is a gurgling creek running out of the pond, which makes for a nice picnic spot too.

Just returned from a few days staying at a cabin in nearby Arrowhead, during which I took a morning and went to explore the Alpine Plateau road. This cache was at the top of my hitlist when I saw how long it had been since it was found. I left early in the morning and drove my Ridgeline up the county road when I ran into a closed gate about .1 miles from the cache. My GPS and DeLorme mapbook both showed the county road continuing onward, and I saw no private property signs on the gate or along the fence as far as I could see, so I opened it up and went through, closing behind me. Shortly thereafter I was at the cache and was able to make the find very quickly. All is well with the cache, the contents are all dry and in good shape. I signed the log, snapped a few pics, and went on my way up to try and find Baldy's peak. I found it, but it's more of a shallow hump than a peak! Who knows, you might just have a reason to return there very shortly! ;) Thanks for the fun cache, I appreciate it! I'll add a picture in a sec that I took from GZ. Cheers - Zulu

Great name for a cache after seeing the location. Not what I was expecting but entirely fitting. TFTC
