Dogs  Recommended for kids  Scenic view  Available during winter  Bicycles  Motorcycles  Quads  Off-road vehicles  Snowmobiles  Horses

Nice jeep road to cache; rutted, rocky or steep in places. Nice three-quarter mile hike for those without a high clearance vehicle. Great views of surrounding mountains, Rifle Gap (gap in the Grand Hogback), and Rifle Creek Golf Course.
Travel north of Rifle on Hwy 13. Turn right on Hwy 325 at bowling alley and travel about 1.9 miles. Across highway from "Sunlight Ridge Ranch" start up a rough, rocky, rutted, winding, (nice jeep) road. Don't go thru the green gate at left, but bear right and stop soon to look for micro containing cache coordinates. (Published coordinates are for this micro). Proceed to cache once coordinates are found in micro. Note that the road will likely be impassable to even 4WD when rainy, raining, snowy, or muddy with snowmelt. When placed the cache contained a Red Rock Mountain (CA) Green Jeep TB, Henny Penny TB, Where’s George $1, Disposable Camera, patriotic & blue wrist bands, purple Mardi gras beads, Troll Dolls key chains (red & Purple) and a cold drink cozy.

Installed a new micro (pill container within which is a metal waterproof holder) for the coordinates of the final. Have fun! Nickrhds

The first cache to this multi is gone, pill bottle is there but nothing in it. Sent message to owner, but no luck. Thought we weren't going to be able to find this one but I got to reading the logs and one of them had the final cache coordinates. So we ended up finding the final cache. Everything looks good, left our geocoin! Not able to find and check the second cache, due to no coordinates in the first cache.

Today with the Mrs., placed the famous souvenir "Indiandunes - The Puzzler - August 2014 Souvenir" here. This guy had been on the road for the past 13 months, traveling over 12,000 miles, even to Alaska. Indiandunes recently placed this souvenir in our Stony Journey, Matey cache and now we left it here for the next lucky geocacher to retrieve and put him "on-the-road-again".
Here's hoping you have a chance to visit me up here above the Rifle Creek Golf Course; I've been a bit lonely here.
Happy caching,
Nickrhds and the Mrs.

Checked Jeepers. Thanks again to DArR for replacing Part 1 micro last year. Put Part 1 into the original hole where placed on 3 SEP 2006; see Additional Hint. Found Final with new coordinates from the micro by DArR that he placed in 2014; which took us directly on top of the Final. The Final was in good shape with several 'treasures'. Borrowed the neat "Super.Speed 218 BEE" cartridge tie-tack placed by pakapat in 2009.

Left some new treasures for future geocachers, including:
1) Trackable Quad Cacher from Trackable@geocaching.com with trackable No. TB1YAWH. It has been activated and is trackable using the number just given. This one loves to travel on rough roads and trails.
2) Jeep Wagoneer Ambulance for a finder to keep.
3) Travel Bug Dog Tag with Trackable No. TB18RRT with the extra copy included. It has been activated.
4) Colorado State Park magnet for a finder to keep.
5) Decorative metal compass/sun-dial by "James Hall" created by Hog Wild Stuff. This compass will hopefully help you find those elusive caches. It has Trackable No. TB34M5K, has been activated, and is trackable on Geocaching.com., and
6) one of our famous wooden Nickrhds GeoCoins "The World is Our Playing Field.

Happy caching,
Nickrhds and the Mrs.
