This cache was the ultimate goal of today's caching adventures! After gampa&gamma graciously helped me with (*cough*walkedmethrough*cough*) this stumper of a puzzle several months ago, I was thrilled to be able to share the solution with RPieperCO (who has basically solved every puzzle in the area except this one). Apprehensive about how Button and Marauder Jude would do on the terrain, he scoped out the routes thoroughly and found a very manageable route that followed a ridge and was much more direct than the route I had originally intended to take.

What a special cache, not just for the unique puzzle, but also for what the cache itself has gone through. This ammo can survived the Waldo Canyon Fire (barely), though the contents weren't as lucky, and the delicate, charred logbook provides a haunting reminder of the destruction passed through this area. Thankfully, another cacher had provided a replacement container and log. On the way back we found a delightful little spot with wild strawberries and more ladybugs than we could count! Thanks for placing this cache. Definitely a favorite for the puzzle itself, the history this container bears witness to, and for the fun memories along the way.

Thanks for the fun Multi! I started this one a long long time ago and no matter what I did to try and solve it nothing worked. Recently Kerewin0430 solved it. Finally just a day or two before the event in Woodland Park she finally gave me the hint (well really the walk through) on how to solve this one. Wow! Great idea! Never in a million years would I have come up with that solution. Today after the event we set out to find a few targeted caches in the area. Made the fairly long walk down the ridge line to find it. I'm just floored that this made it through the fire. The original log book is there, but burnt to a crisp! Neat that it will be preserved, hopefully. Signed the new log and snapped some pictures. On the way back we walked through a field of wild strawberries. So YUM!!! Kids ate a ton of them! While sitting there we were being covered in lady bugs. Found a pile of them nearby! A really fun walk and good learning opportunity of the fires and natures ability to rebound.

Gampa found the first stage to this multi way back on 3-12-16 while on his daily run. We looked at the puzzle from time to time, off and on over the few months following. Finally on 6-3-16 we got a huge nudge from a fellow cacher and a solution was soon in hand. Unfortunately, life kept us out of the final stage area for many more months. Today we started up to Pikes Peak to do some caching at the top, only to be turned back due to snowy conditions on the roads! Ha! It was a balmy 50 degrees where we were. So, to salvage the day, we decided to head to one of the Movie Classic series and the final to this fun puzzle. Boy was that a hike and a half from where we found parking. These two old folks still have it, but the hike tested it! Anyway, we found the burnt container right where it was supposed to be, but it isn't water proof any longer. We dumped some water out, wiped smutz off of the new inner container, and put that in a plastic bag. No....not the nasty, rusty, dirty, wet one-----a brand spankin' new one! Hopefully the log will survive the winter now. Thanks for this fun cache (that we wish was a 5 terrain!) and the beautiful hiking area. The aspens are gorgeous.

Very cool first stage, but can't claim the find as this there are still other stages out there. Once I made it and opened this one up, I picked up the note that is the hint to the second stage. After just staring at it for a few minutes I put it in my pocket and will write the cache owner for a hint. There are plenty of notes left in the cache.
This one is well off the Sante Fe Trail. That trail is one of the best hikes in Colorado Springs and having a cache a little ways off of that made this even more fun. Anyway, thanks for a PART of a geocache and hopefully the owner will throw me a bone!

I enjoyed this multi a lot. Took a bit of head scratching but as I needed the spot for my jasmer it was worth it. The snow made it take longer but again still worth it. Thanks for the fun multi and for keeping it going!
