After my dentist appointment this morning, I had the rest of the day off from work. So, I did a loop on my bike and checked on most of my caches. This cache was right where it was supposed to be. Happy caching!

TFTC! Saw some ducks and geese. Picked up some trash on the way :)

Found today with creativecacher31 and supernova2020. Beautiful place. Lots of birds. Pen in the cache had exploded ink everywhere, so we swapped it out for a different one. TFTC!

Well, I warned my puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo that they would need to stay in the car while I went for the cache--because dogs are not allowed in the ELC. They didn't appear to have any concern, because they love going in the car anywhere, and have needed to remain in the vehicle occasionally in the past. I made the hike to the cache location as late afternoon dusk was settling in, and was impressed by the number of white-tailed deer I encountered. All were relatively tame, including a nice buck. The find was an easy one, and I was back to the parking area before dark. Thanks, jrj1980!

Under overcast skies we walked from the ELC parking area to the fence line and followed it to GZ. Nice cache. Thanks

New cache publication notice! Yay! Fairly close... just across town a bit. It's only... 7:30 p.m. By the time I get to that location... it's gonna be... na-na-na-na-na-na-na.... NIGHT CACHE!
I sort of read the cache description and notice that bushwacking from the east was an option. Well then, that sounds like the most fun option at night.
I am slightly familiar with this area having been in it years and years ago... At night, however, not so much!
I made sure to take my time and watch my step. In the last breath of dusk, I managed to see both a crane and an owl before I started following the bank in pure darkness. Eventually, I connected with a trail proper and was spared more bushwacking than was necessary. Ah, the rush of a FTF some deters our better navigation skills...
I was extremely thankful for really good cords when I arrived at ground zero. There seemed to be many many possible locations... but that was just darkness working against me. Thanks to the great cords, however, the find wasn't overly difficult. The night cache adventure was certainly worth it to see a blank log! Excellent location and really great hide for this one. I'll have to return sometime in the day to appreciate it 'in another light'.
After finding and signing the blank log, I, of course, managed to find a much easier way out, only managing to scare a dog walker briefly before making it back to my car. I really enjoy the rush of the FTF, and the blinders I put on in the dash for them sometimes. Thank you very much for that opportunity, and TFTC. It was a pleasure as much as an adventure!
