From the web page for Round Mountain:
This temporary opening enables visitors to hike the trail for a few weeks - until the trail is closed again for another project from spring to summer. Closure dates coming soon. The trail head will be subject to additional closure pending the start of a pipeline reclamation project to remove the former hydropower plant supply line. Thank you.
So double check to see if the trail is open before you try for this cache or contact me and I will let you know the current status of the trail.

Greetings I'm Heartland Cacher, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.
We are doing a check of caches that have been disabled for an extended period. Please maintain this cache and post an appropriate note to the cache page.
As stated in the cache listing guidelines https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance Disable a cache page when the cache is not available or you need time to fix reported problems. A cache page can stay disabled for a reasonable amount of time - generally up to four weeks.
PLEASE NOTE:
Today's notice is a friendly reminder only. Do not reply to me directly. Rather, please go to "Log geocache" (upper right hand of the cache page) and choose "WRITE A NOTE" from the drop down menu. Please do not use the "OWNER MAINTENANCE" log until you do the maintenance and the cache is ready to be found again with a status update and any intention to revive the cache. Several reviewers participate in cache maintenance tasks so a log posted in this manner is the best way to get your message seen. Without a log posted you risk having the cache archived.
If you have disabled this cache for the winter or a season, please consider this a reminder to post a notice for when you expect the area to re-open. Re-activate the cache if the area is actually open again.
After you have checked on it and it's ready for seeking again, great! You can re-enable the cache page http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 by clicking the link under the cache name or by checking the box that says the cache is active. If, however, you discover that the cache is missing and/or you decide not to replace it, then please remove any remaining pieces of it and archive it. This will open up the area for other geocachers to hide their own geocaches. You may also need to digitally relocate any trackable items still listed here. If a "Needs Maintenance" log was posted, you will also need to log an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" icon from the geocache page. http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404
I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. If the cache is not maintained or the status is not updated, it will be archived. Thank you for understanding.
If this sounds like an automated email template, that's because it is. I apologize for that but the volume of messages we get is such that templates like this make the process much more efficient. Thanks for your understanding.
I look forward to hearing from you. Do not reply to this email. It is sent by a no-reply mailbot so I won't get it. To respond, please do NOT send me an e-mail or a message center conversation as they lack needed functionality for reviewing. Leave a new "Reviewer Note" log here on your cache page. If you're not familiar with this process, see the instructions https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=97&pgid=74. I have your cache on my watchlist, and I will receive a notification when you write your note.
"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance *it will not be unarchived."*
Additionally, please note that if I've not heard from you in 4 weeks, I may be forced to archive this cache. Don't let your cache get archived for non-communication

The Round Mountain trail head will be CLOSED January 4 - February 16, 2019.
The Round Mountain trail head closure is due to a forest mitigation project under the direction of the Big Thompson River Coalition to help reduce fuel sources in the event of a wildfire. The trail head will be subject to additional closure pending the start of a pipeline reclamation project to remove the former hydropower plant supply line. Thank you.

I was notified today November 2, 2017 that Tee has passed on. I do have some very fond memories of caching with Tee and her owner. So Rest in Peace Tee, we will miss you.
In the beginning of the long description there is a tune for Tee. Listen to it and think of Tee.

Six years ago when Tahosa and family were living in Arizona Joe asked me to lay out and develop the details for this marvelous multi-cache. He provided me with some very clear parameters that I used; my puppy Teewinot and I spent a couple of days hiking to check on the specific coordinates of each point and to validate them, and to decide on the specific hide locations for some of the containers-- including the penultimate and final locations. Since then I’ve continued the maintenance of the cache stages, working through every stage location at least twice over the years to validate that everything remains in place.
Now that Joe and family have returned to NoCo it’s a pleasure to know that a truly seasoned champion of back-country caching (and the TRUE mentor of the caching orientation I fortunately chose to pursue) is back “home” and active again here to bring many special “ingredients” to our geocaching adventures. This particular cache is certainly one of these adventurous opportunities for those who choose to engage in it! And since their return to northern Colorado several other super caches have been hidden by Tahosa and Sons.
Because of my involvement in the hiding of the cache stages I was given the “honorary” position of co-owner of the cache–so was my puppy Teewinot! But I am not the actual owner. Tahosa and Sons owns this great multi-cache. After all this time I’ve decided to log my Find on this marvelous cache. I’m happy to have been asked by Joe to make the hides and to perform the maintenance hikes while he was in Arizona, and am pleased that he recognized my contributions in the ownership script. But I am not the cache owner–merely a disciple of the Owner!
Now, a current update on Teewinot: I absolutely wore her out during the many, many alpine adventures we shared together, and her back legs finally failed on her about 4 years ago. She is fine today but at age 13 and with the back-end handicap she is, unfortunately, unable to make mountain hikes–either on or off-trail. She remains such a loving, devoted companion, and has pure affection toward her back-county “replacement” companion for me–my puppy Orizaba (“Zaba”). I’m so pleased that Tahosa and Sons recognized the remarkable dog Tee has been, in the title of this marvelous cache. THANK YOU, Joe!
A final update, on November 2, 2017. Tee died this morning after enduring a terrible night. She is buried in our pet cemetery on our Falcon Ridge property, a farm she has lived on and loved over her 13 years of life. She enjoyed so many caching friends through her years. You all added very special ingredients to her wonderful life. We will miss her so much.

What only 3 finds in over almost 6 years! Wow Tahosa this one is the turning into rare cache to find! Over the years I'v made finds on stages 1 and 2 but have seemed to lost the valuable info to proceed further in the cache sequence . Hope to gather the pieces of info in the near future to claim a smiley on this lonely cache!

We had a hard time trying to figure out where to take the projection from. What's a sign and what's a plaque? We ended up trying several different points and spent over an hour searching large areas. Finally had to give up.

Great geocache! I was all excited to be only the third person to find this one and when I got to the final, turns out that some hunter actually found it on accident and signed the log back in September. Well, he didn't go through all the stages, so that's not official. I'm still claiming third to find.
I had a great time finding the final stage today. I went in from Hermit Park on my mountain bike. Stashed it behind some big rocks to hike to the final, then came back to the bike and rode it all over that place. Great times! I love Colorado! Thanks for the amazing geocaches!
P.S. I found a cool geocoin in "The Dessert" today and dropped it in the final stage of this one.
