This cache is a goober butter jar that has been nicely camoed. Like goobers, the jar is small.
The jar originally had some interesting items in it including two geocoins for the first two finders if they choose. It also has a logbook and some other stuff including an Oakbuck, two lizards and an alien. Please leave items of comparable value if you take something.

The trailhead is not immediately obvious. At the east end of the side-of-the-road parking is where the trail begins. It is easy to get across the ditch there if there is no water in it. After getting across, you will be turning right. Once upon a time, there was a bridge across the ditch near here but not now; you can see the bridge abutments for it. The trail continues up into Deer Creek Canyon Park and connects with the other trails in the park. This particular trail is not on the map of the park but you can easily see it in satellite photos.

Oh, and by the way, Goober says "hey" and to bring your own pen or pencil.

My 5th find on a sunny January Sunday! Great location on a vacant trail. TFTC!

I was on my way up for another trip to Golden, and fortunately had time to pick up a few caches. I’ve been to this area before, but bypassed this trail and the cache on previous trips. I managed to cross the stream at the remains of the bridge. The ice was thick enough for me to cross while inbound; it groaned a bit, but held. I wasn’t so lucky outbound…good thing I keep a spare set of clothes in the Xterra. My only concern was a wet sock, but still…snivel, snivel. I was happy to make the find with no drama. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find and brining me to this cool spot, TFTC.

Almost straight up hill on good trail from Turkey Pot pie. Hint kept me from straying too far from trail to make the find. SL Hot day for climbing.
