There are two locations for this multicache. I have had so much fun caching with my friends scraftn, braaaains, and sghoopa. This cache is for them. Here are a few of our adventures together.
On a nice afternoon after work why not go geocaching with a co-worker. Scraftn and I went to the park to have some fun in the sun. We decided to climb some trees to get some higher terrain caches. Scraftn is a good climber and soon climbed thirty feet high in a tree. She was so excited she started to swing back and forth on a branch. She was having so much fun she forgot I was taking her picture from down below. I couldn’t let her have all the fun, so the next tree was mine. I hadn’t climbed a tree since I was a kid. Oh, what fun. Overall, we had a great afternoon covered in pine needles.
A couple years ago I decided I wanted to fill in my DT grid. The caches with attributes of “may require swimming” and “boat required” piqued my interest. My adventurous friends decided to help me out. Scraften and I went to Chatfield State Park and went for a kayaking geocaching hunt. This one was a multicache and we paddled to an island to find part of the cache information and then to a different tree island to find the physical cache. This was so much fun. Scraften has great eyesight and was able to spot the cache first, but since the water level was low, we couldn’t reach it. I volunteered to get out of the kayak and brave the water to reach the cache. In the process of doing this I almost dumped myself into the lake and being short the water level was still high for me. Between the two of us we accomplished our mission.
One another “boat required” adventure braaaains went with me. We went out to find all the caches on the islands at Dillon Reservoir. We paddled about 5 miles that day and found all but one of the island caches. This was a great way to see the lake and hang out with a good friend.
Braaaains and I needed another adventure. After work one day we went up to Thornton for some tunnel caches armed with flashlights and a backpack. Little did we know what we were in for when we started this adventure. The opening of the “tunnel” was nice and large. The first cache was right near the opening, but we had to crawl up a ladder to get it. The ladder wasn’t the issue, all the spiders next to the cache are what caused the failure. Both of us are terrified of spiders. Rather than climb to the top of the ladder and risk falling from a spider landing on us we passed it up. We went onward to the second one deeper in the “tunnel.” The farther we went the deeper it got. Both of us are a little vertically challenged so we had to put all of our things in my backpack to keep them from getting wet. We saw some crawdads, water striders, beetles, and even a salamander, along with a few spiders on the walls. The best part was as we kept walking the bottom got very muddy and our boots stayed in the mud like glue. I almost died laughing as we were walking. We finally got to the second cache and again it was up high, but the ladder didn’t reach the ground. Without having climbing gear, we couldn’t get it, but at least we saw it. The last cache was just like the second cache, but near the exit hole. Once again, we had to pass, but we couldn’t see this one. Even though we didn’t find any of the caches we still had a great time. We came out to the other end with black mud coming out of our boots and pants. Thankfully we both had towels in our vehicles for the ride home.
One of my favorite types of caches are night caches. I can’t get enough of them. Little bugs and I went to visit a friend and there is a night cache near her home. Of course, we had to do it. Sghoopa signed up on geocaching.com and off we went with our flashlights. Some of the markers were missing, but we had a blast going back and forth along the river paths trying to find them.
I’m fortunate to have such thrill-seeking friends to go on adventures together.
The final GZ is at a private residence with permission. There is NO need to go through the gate. The cache should be recognizable due to its size as well as being marked with the geocaching symbol. Please respect the location and stay on the rocks and only collect this final cache between 8am to 9pm. Watch your step so you don't trip on the rocks. There are flowering plants nearby so watch for bees and spiders ?. The log is in a smaller container within the main cache. Don’t forget to figure out the lock code before coming to the GZ.
Final notes. I love puzzle caches and trackables. My favorite trackable is Hemlich who is in my list of trackables. Hope you enjoy this multi-cache puzzle.
