The fourth in my Gnome Home series.  A nice walk on the trail, and then a short jaunt off trail to find this one.
Gnome Homes can be found in all sorts of places.  All they need is some sandstone or limestone and some erosion to create the little pockets they like to call home.  Often, their homes are out in the open, facing the sun much of the time.  This one is located under the foliage, in a slab of rock that is slowly being exposed by erosional forces.  There are some interesting features to this section of rock, from the knobby sculpture at the base of it, to the concretions on the surface of the rock.

To access this Gnome Home, start off at the Matthew/Winters Park parking lot and take a short walk on The Village Walk trail.  It is worth your time to take a small detour to the un-advertised historical graveyard on the west side of the trail.  The Gnome Home is located east of the Village Walk Trail.  You may be tempted to walk down the Village Ride Trail, but remember that is a bike only trail!  Just cut across the meadow and avoid irritating the bikers.

The cache is a large pill bottle covered in camo tape.  There is a log and a few small toy dinosaurs inside.  Remember to bring your own pencil or pen.  Also remember that snakes live in this area, so don't put your hands anywhere you can't see into.

Happy caching!

Congratulations to youkfish FTF!

Beautiful place. Couldn’t find the cache. Plenty of cacti. No snakes.

Long and frustrating search among scores of holes, cracks and crevices within 60 feet of GZ coordinates. No Gnome at home. However, there are plentiful cacti and burrs. K7

We risked the village trail on foot. Not many out today. This gnome has a lovely home.

This cache was a previous DNF for me so it was nice to find it. Being a rule follower I was unsure how to approach the cache down the "bikes only" trail. I decided to go off trail and cross country it. Beautiful area. Cache is closer to a micro size. Thank you for placing this cache and helping to keep our recreation going.
