This geocache is on Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District property. It is located at a point in which a summer sport begins and, in winter, a winter sport takes place.

This geocache location marks the start of two completely different sports depending on the season. The summer sport layout was established 50 years ago. The winter sport includes miles of trails. There are breathtaking views of Rocky Mountain National Park from this spot.

We were so looking forward to attending and caching our way to and around the Celebrating Historic Grand Lake Event. We had received an email last night from one of the hosts that Trail Ridge Road was closed due to ice and snow, and that the event might be canceled. Mr SDC informed me that we weren't taking Trail Ridge Road to get to Grand Lake. I emailed the host back to let her know and she made arrangements to have another host there in the event we decided to chance the weather spoiling our day. We are so glad we went ahead with our plans as we had an amazing day caching and enjoying the end of the changing of the Aspens BigSmile. The weather started out a bit iffy with some light rain and fog but cleared up nicely as we got deeper in the mountains. We managed to grab most of the Across The Divide GeoTour 2018 caches along with some others. Searched the area for a few minutes and after reading the previous DNF logs, we placed a new container with log to keep cache going. SL, TFTC

Thank you glskier for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

My son, I and his three daughters are here from the St. Louis area to hike and fish for the week. Our last day here and my son told me to just go out and do something as the girls just wanted to laze around. So I went for five nearby caches. The entry to this golf course is very low key and plenty of parking. So I just walked about like I belonged there. As I was browsing a nearby tree, a couple of golfers in a cart stopped and asked what type of tree that was. I told them but also confessed I was geocaching. I finally made the find after probably looking like a structural inspector. TFTCg

Found with chuppalloop. Scaled the hillside unnecessarily. Giggled about it on our way down. TFTC!

Ran around picking up a few caches I either missed last year or have published since then. Thanks for placing this one - it took me longer than I'd care to admit!
