Leroux Creek Series #9- Roughing It

***PLEASE SEE LEROUX CREEK SERIES #1 FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION***

The ninth cache in this series is located at the entrance to a large camping spot. If you are planning to camp up here, most of the easier accessible camp spots are located just off the road in the next few miles. This is one of the larger spots that can accommodate quite a few large campers. The spots are first come, first serve and the best one’s tend to go quickly on the summer weekends.

Happy Hunting! Congrats to nsturchio on the FTF!

This one definitely eluded me even though I'm pretty sure that I was at the GZ. Just couldn't figure it out.

Had to go back to this one four times. The first time there were people camped there but they must have been out riding. We looked without success but finding number 12 gave us an additional clue / idea to help us with this one so we went back the next day. Second time, people were still there but packing up to leave. We went back a third time after the camping party had left and spent another 15 minutes looking without success. After spending 30 minutes cleaning up the camp spot (these people did not deserve to enjoy our National Forests as they trashed the fire pit, left a half full gas can in the fire pit along with 40-50 cans and bottles. Tore down a healthy tree next to the fire pit and left it half burnt in the fire pit as well as cans and trash scattered around - rant over), we tried a fourth time and found the little bugger right at GZ within 4' radius. Good hide! Clever!

Okay, time out!! So we were all over this thing, then moved out about fifty feet thinking the coordinates were screwy. A group of kids camping near came over to investigate our activities and were soon joined by a cluster of cattle. Well we searched and sat around for thirty minutes or so before I happened to spot the device to retrieve the container. Wow, what a hide in the sticks. Exasperating but fun. Many thanks.. Must get a favorite!!
