The fourth of a series of caches planned to be hidden at or near the historic rural schoolhouses of Routt County - beginning in West Routt!

 

A small coffee can with log book and some tradables.  Located at 7769’ above sea level.

Dunckley School #3 -- the final location of the Dunckley schools.  This frame school was built in 1941 and closed in 1944.   This frame building was moved to 31145 Co Rd 37 and is currently used for storage.  There is nothing left in the area of where the school originally stood.  

The large lodge near here is part of Cross Mountain Ranch and has been featured in hunting shows on the Outdoor channel in recent years.

 

This cache MAY be accessible in the winter - but would depend on how deep the snow is -- in the spring, how deep the ditches are!

Made the four caches in the Dunckley series favorites for taking us for a drive in the country for some great scenery. Co FTF with KCSearcher @ 1:24 pm. Day 16 of a 23 day caching trip with KCSearcher (my brother) with the goal of completing the Colorado Delorme Challenge and the county challenge called Mondo's Colorado 64 Challenge. In addition, we picked up the oldest cache in Colorado called Tarryall. Today we drove from Rangely, CO to Craig, CO picking up caches along the way for Delorme grids 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 25 and 26 and Moffat and Routt counties. TFTH. SL
