"There is one burial said to be outside the cemetery, to the south, on private property. Supposedly a horse thief was buried there in the late 1800s. He was hung from a tree close to the cemetery. The tree later died, which the old timers said was probably because the man was innocent. The dead tree stood as a landmark for years, but was later cut down by a trespasser and used as a lawn ornament. The rightful owner found the tree and brought it back to the property; all that is left is the thick and gnarled old trunk." Written by Dick Lane. I drove 530 miles today and managed to find 29 caches as I made my way from Dodge City to Montrose. I was trying to find caches in new counties so I did a little bit of wandering along the way. The weather was great and the traffic wasn't a problem, so all in all a great day.
I stopped at the gate and walked in. I enjoy stopping for cemetery caches.
Thanks for the fun!

What a beautiful little cemetery. Another one of these places that we would have never seen without geocaching. We loved reading about the local legends. Picked up the TB. Tftc.
