!! Exciting New Cache Series!!

“COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST”

The Colorado Spirit Quest is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural and mountain communities across Colorado.  This series will introduce you to many of them.

The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones.

COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST is not affiliated with any other ‘Spirit Quest’ group.  Special thanks and credit are given to SixDogTeam who started the Indiana Spirit Quest in 2004. The idea has rapidly spread into many states.

The CSQ endeavor is an enormous and relentless task.  It cannot be accomplished by just one or two people.  This project will only flourish if there is a multitude of volunteer cachers  willing to place these caches.

After locating the cache container, take some time to reflect back on the lives of those pioneers and the effort it took to make Colorado such a great state.

If you are interested in joining the “Walking Through History Clan” contact may be made by sending an e-mail to the owner of “Colorado Spirit Quest #1 – Mo untain Passage”.  Use the ‘Send Message” link at the center of the page of their profile.

Each person that places a CSQ cache is responsible for its maintenance.

REMEMBER:

If you are APPREHENSIVE about cemeteries – AVOID this series.

The cache is a decon container.  You will need to enter the cemetery to find the cache.

This cemetery is nicely kept and has a very informative directory. It is larger than most of the cemeteries on the eastern plains with perhaps 2800 markers. We looked around and found dates as old as 1896.

Thanks for the easy find in the CSQ series! Log is wet — but the way the wind was blowing today, it kinda dried some while I was trying to roll it back up! Lol!

Taking advantage of the extended weekend to take a little trip. Today we we began by county caching across Nebraska and filling a few empty slots along the way. Then we headed South into Colorado for a few more. Cache found in good shape. After signing the log we took a little stroll and investigated. Thanks for placing.

Out grabbing a few counties and hunting hidden creatures. Beautiful cemetery, a little south of where we thought but found it!

All was well with this geocach. Thank you for the hide. I'm out here in Haxtun Phillips County doing the county cashes. I only have less than 10 left. One more County Today Than back home. An exceptionally beautiful and well kept Cemetery. Thank you. The mosquitoes are biting me however.

Heading east to Nebraska after spending the night in Longmont and taking a non-scenic route apparently. But we’ll always stop for a cemetery cache! This was not a shining moment for us displaying our great geocaching skills but we managed to make the find. TFTC.

Day 49 of our cross-country road trip from Phoenix. We're on our way home, sorta. Today we went from North Platte, Nebraska to Sidney, Nebraska... via Arikaree Breaks, Kansas. So our 120-mile trip took 320 miles, so what? Because... geocaching. BigSmile

Now that we've accomplished our first objective for the day (Arikaree for our find number 5,000) we're now focused on our second: Picking up a few counties in northeastern Colorado on our way back up to Sidney. This one took us a couple of minutes but we finally had the cache in hand. Thanks for the cache and thanks for Phillips County.
