Elmwood Cemetery was officially established in 1896; however, there had been burials prior to that dating back 20 years.

Our family is on vacation in Colorado. We've been in Colorado Springs earlier, and we stayed overnight in a hotel close by while on our way north. In the early morning hours my family was still sleeping in. So as not to disturb them I checked out the surrounding area and picked up a few more geocaches.

It was bitterly cold this morning with a few inches of snow on the ground from yesterday's winter storm. Wherever I hunted caches, sometimes I left bootprints in the snow leading to them. I guess any cachers today won't need their GPSr!

I loved the nearby memorial to our veterans, and spent some time pondering their sacrifices for our country. I then hunted for the cache, and soon found it. Great container! Cache and log is in great shape.

Many of the trees in the cemetery have shed their leaves overnight, creating a carpet of green on top of the snow. TFTC

Out on family business, short search, getting very close to "flashlite search" time so this is a DNF this evening, be back with some daylite next time . . . Sure it is here, just daylite is not here.
