This cache is located along the year round popular Barbara Whipple Trail. The cache is located at the site of the "Hack Road Bridge". From 1887-1917(ish) this was referred to as the "Hack" Road. It was used by the wagons carrying freight, ore, and supplies to and from the Midland Railroad depot to the town of Buena Vista. There was a bridge at this spot up until I have heard the 1950's when the last remnants of it were removed. There is a nice bench and information sign telling more of the history of the area right near the cache. Also a good place to take a break from the hike.
