What is an Instruction Cache?

Computers work by following a sequence of instructions coded in a way a particular processor type can understand.  These instructions originate in a large but relatively slow Main Memory that is typically shared between several processor cores.  Each core in a processing system keeps a copy of recently-used instructions in a small, fast Instruction Cache, often reusing the instructions multiple times without incurring the cost of another round trip to Main Memory.

What does that have to do with this Geocache?

At the listed coordinates ("Main Memory"), you will find instructions that will guide you to the final container a short walk away.  Please make a copy of these instructions using your phone ("Instruction Cache") and then leave the original behind.  You may need to use the instructions again to home in on the final container.  And another processor (Geocacher) may come along and need them while you are searching.

Yikes! I don't know anything about computers!

No problem!  The instructions at the listed coordinates are coded for a particular processor type (Geocacher) and are designed to be easy to decode using their built-in visual analysis hardware.

Congratulations to Trea and hartsdale - First to Find!

Part of today's bike ride. I'm really glad I wasn't electrocuted while finding this.

Knowing ernie66 hides are so much fun, I made this one a priority.
Got the final right where the instructions put me.
Great idea, so unique and well thought out! One of the best caches I've found this year.
Thanks Ernie!

Co-STF with CDRSheppo. I found it with my littlest guy after work. I needed a multi today to make progress on challenges I signed in Phoenix, so I was happy to see this one recently published. We found the first stage quickly, although it was very unique and not what I was thinking it would be. CDRSheppo said "That's our only clue?" We headed off and passed a muggle who was acting suspiciously near GZ, but we smiled and they moved on and I quickly made the find. Thanks for the multi!

Co {FTF} with Hartsdale. I was watering my yard when I saw this one pop. By the time I finished watering, I was sure Hartsdale would have already found it so I was shocked nobody had found it yet. When I got to GZ, there he was, Hartsdale. We teamed up and found it quickly. Yay, so much fun to cache with another cacher. Thanks, ernie66, for the delightful multi.
