Scenic view  Cliff / falling rocks  Hunting  Camping available  Campfires  Short hike (less than 1km)  Seasonal Access

The views up here are amazing. Altitude is around 11275 so keep an eye open for weather changes. The hike to the cache is short but you need to be surefooted a walking stick is helpful. There is a faint trail leading to the rock shelf near an old fence. The cache is a small bottle. Also there are some interesting rock forts up here. Bring a pen and have fun!

There are fish in the lake and areas to camp. You are also not far from the Greenhorn trailhead. It is a nice place to spend a relaxing day.

FTF! with LeewayeDiscGolf. We've been watching this one for awhile. Gate was finally open. Beautiful area.

FTF! with nite_raven at 1:20pm today. We'd tried this one before only to be stopped by the massive gate. After confirming with the Forest Service that the gate was finally open we gave it another shot. The gate was previously closed due to 15 foot tall snow drifts. A grader was out resurfacing the road from the gate to the lake, so the road is in great shape, except for the beginning of Opher Creek. What a perfect spot for a geocache and the cache is nicely named. The View from Above is awesome! The walk in sounds like breaking glass and the 'rock forts' were neat. Expected to have to search and dig for this one after 10 months without an FTF, but found the cache at GZ safe and sound like it was placed yesterday. Thanks for the excuse to check out this amazing area.

After doing Marion Falls with mldisc earlier in the day, I came back up here with nite_raven to try for FTF. We were hoping the gates were open since it was after Memorial Day. Opher Creek's gate was open as well as the gate near the 307 turnoff. After reaching the top intersection we headed down 369 towards the cache only to be stopped with 16 kilometers still to go by a massive locked gate. It just says Road Closed. I'm hoping it isn't permanent and it'll open soon. Still a good amount of snow drifts around and the snow mobile maps are all still posted at each road. We'll be back to try again.
