Finding this cache will give you a tour of Longmont’s Stephen Day Park. Stephen Day is one of Longmont’s heroes from the Vietnam era. At your final destination you will have a chance to read more about this young man who received a Purple Heart and 9 other awards for his heroic actions.

Bring your BMX bike, skateboard, basket ball, dog, volley ball, swimsuit or a picnic. There is something for everybody at this park.

Your starting coordinates are at:

N 40° 10.973´
W 105° 03.885´

Note the number of kilometers at this point. Don’t worry you won’t have to travel that far to your next point. But you need that number to travel to the highest mountain on earth. Use the number of kilometers at the starting point to reach the highest mountain on earth at:

N 40° 10.(900 + # of kilometers)´
W 105° 03.(647 + # of kilometers)´

Now that you have arrived at the highest mountain on earth note the year on the marker. Isn’t this a great piece of art and a nice place to just relax? To reach your next point use the year on the marker and proceed to the highest point in this park at:

N 40° 10.(Year on the marker - 1001)´
W 105° 03.770

You have now arrived at the highest point in this park and are standing between two trees. Take a moment to look around at all this park offers. Walk Northeast to the bottom of the very small mountain you are standing on. Count the number of rocks at the foot of the mountain and use them in the coordinates to your final destination. (number of rocks + 1 = x, number of rocks - 1 = y ):

N 40° 10.948
W 105° 03.x8y

You have reached your final destination. The cache is a log only. Beware of muggles - they hang out here a lot! Good luck in your hunt!

Congratulations to

Yay I found it! It turns out on the step where I was supposed to count the rocks at the highest part of the park, I counted the wrong number of rocks. I went out geocaching with my friend and if he didn't point that out, I would have never found this. Tftc

Found with Java Chip! We love puzzle caches and this one did not disappoint! Wanted to find a cache on the day I completed my first triathlon too! TFTC.

It took me some considerable amount of time to work out the first two clues, then, on the third clue, I got confused. For the sake of not spoiling anything, the last part asks you to go northwest on the highest part of the park and count the rocks, but I had some trouble figuring out how many rocks there were. I now have two sets of coordinates, I checked one coordinate and I couldn't find anything, but I haven't checked the other coordinate because It's in a field and I'm not quite sure if I solved all of the clues correctly or not.

Nice stroll around the park on a frosty morning. Final took me longer than it should have done.

Couldn't find it. It was a bit confusing since we're new to caching, probably not a good one for beginners.

We are on our 4th day of our joint geocaching spree in Colorado: DDSRN from SC and me from Montana. Finally woke up to a clear day and no rain until very late afternoon. Today should be an easier day with no long climbs up mountains or snow to content with like we had on Day 2.

Enjoyed this park and the trip around to find all the coordinates and stops. Fun multi. A few people using the skate park, a birthday bash was just getting started, and friendly dogs. What a great park. TFTH

Betzij and I are chasing down multi stage, traditional, and challenge caches on this dreary Saturday morning. Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches.

Hubby saw it as we drove up but we tried to follow the clues and didn't figure it out. Walked back to car and there it was.
