Where's the Cache....

Removed for Maintenance 9-21-13! Back soon!!! Located just West of Douglas County's new Hidden Mesa Park, in Douglas County Open Space.
Within a few steps, this cache has a commanding view of Pike's Peak to the south, while Mount Evans and the entire Front Range can be seen to the north. The new Hidden Mesa Park occupies much of the view to the east. Two cautions: Be alert for buzzworms as they are ocassionally seen in the area. Secondly, do not park on the inside of the blind curve.

Yes, this is public land, at least according to the assessors and plot maps I have seen (Douglas Cnty Open Space - though not marked or in use as park). I’ve been asked many times if it is, and verifying that it is!

I'm sure glad that you posted that this is open space, I was a little concerned that it was private. I haven't been down this road since a friend of mine moved, and since I was in the area this cache was a good excuse to check it out. The cache had some rodent-inviting swag in it that I removed, as well as a bunch of "evidence" that a pack rat had been in it. I cleaned the cache up a bit for the next cacher. The container is in good shape, so maybe the lid didn't get put on well at some point? Nice view from up here, and thank you for placing the cache where I don't have to worry about not seeing the snake that might bite me. Took nothing, left yen, signed log. Thank you skyviewwx for placing this cache so that we can play!

I have a big trip ahead of me today, so I wanted to find the daily cache before things got a little too hectic.

A nice drive on the countryside to see some of the new development being done and higher end homes that make up Castle Rock. Looking on the map, I knew that there wasn't going to be a lot of options as far as parking is concerned so when I arrived I struggled to find a good spot. I ended up parking in front of one of the access roads to the homes and knew that I couldn't keep my vehicle parked there for long.

So a quick run up the hillside, a jump over a few cacti, and a look around led to a fast find which I was very thankful for. The container is holding up well and it looks like the weather is going to be perfect today.

It's finally time to visit back home one last time!

TFTC SL!

Out for a geocaching adventure day with my good buddy, #1 Beefers. It was a hilly, curvy drive to the cache. Thanks for the placement, skyviewwx!

Out caching with FeartheFish and like usual driving his butt all over the place. Out getting a few degrees for the 360 challenge and picking up some other caches along the way. TFTC!

Thanks for maintaining this older cache! Realized I had forgotten my pen but found one in the container to use. The log obviously had been wet but now is dry.
