From the time when kids had to walk uphill both ways in a blizzard to get to school, the Yuam County Historical Society has set out to locate and mark as many old schools as possible.

West Beecher was operating by 1920 as there was a teacher listed on the county teacher rolls for the school. By 1936 the last 2 students were sent to the East Beecher school

We are heading north on a 3 week road trip to Lead, S.D. the first week. We have watched these FTFs for weeks so these are our targeted caches today. If we have time, we will get others along the way. This will be a long day today but hopefully a good day. Thanks for placing these caches for us to enjoy and for our {FTF} addiction!
