The cache is at the posted coordinates.

There are specific requirements that must be completed before you may log this cache. Make sure you read the page carefully as it contains important information pertaining to the finding and logging of this cache. The requirements are different than those required for the original Fizzy Challenge, GC11E8N.

GC11E8N – Well Rounded Cacher (The Fizzy Challenge), the original Fizzy Challenge cache, was placed in California by Kealia to honor the cacher FizzyMagic, who has given much to the “local caching community” better know as the San Francisco Bay area. Challenge caches are one of my favorites types of caches – we’ve done a few and always found them to be worthwhile ventures. This one was placed with the permission and assistance of Kealia. My thanks to him for his help and suggestions, not to mention the original concept; and my thanks to the local reviewers who were also most helpful.

To be able to log a find for this cache, you will need to first find at least one cache of every difficulty/terrain combination - 81 different combinations . Included in those finds must be at least one of each of the following cache types:-- EarthCache, Event Cache, Traditional Cache, Cito, Unknown, Letterbox Hybrid, Virtual, Multi Cache, and one of these three: Webcam Cache OR Wherigo OR Lab Cache. The different cache types do count towards the 81, so if you find a 2.5/2.5 multi-cache, it fulfills both the cache type and D/T requirement. MEGA events, APE caches and Locationless caches are specifically excluded and cannot be used to fulfill a needed D/T combination. An Important Note: You may use caches from any geographic location to meet the requirements.
Basic Rules:
  • Caches used to satisfy the requirements for this cache may come from any state.
  • Your own hides will not apply towards the goal.
  • No rating changes of existing caches will be accepted as counting towards the goal.
  • Generally accepted Geocaching.com rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find will apply.
  • The caches must be listed on Geocaching.com only, and you must have personally (physically) found and logged each cache.
  • Logging finds on caches you own will not be allowed.
  • You may have others with you when you log the final, but only those who have fulfilled ALL criteria for this cache will be allowed to log it as a find.
  • Finds without appropriate back-up (see below) will be deleted.
  • This cache will not count as a 5/5 D/T. You must find another one before this one.
  • When in doubt ask -- we can discuss it or even seek guidance from others, but the final decision rests with the cache owner.

Miscellaneous Notes:
Keeping track:
  • Although not required, FizzyMagic's FindStats program can be helpful. (A download is required to use this program.) This is especially useful for gpx files generated by pocket queries, such as from bookmarked cache lists. FYI, as I played with this program, I found that files generated by GSAK did not work.
  • Other pocket queries or gpx files generated by GSAK cannot be used here.
  • For GSAK users, try this macro. Although I haven't yet played with it, it appears that a GSAK database containing all of your finds could be used here. The use of GSAK and this macro is not required for this cache. Thanks to Allanon for the suggestion.
  • You are more than welcome to post notes and/or pictures of your progress here as you work towards the final.

To get (and keep!) credit for this find:
  • When you have found all of the required combinations, post a note to this cache page and include each of the caches that qualify with their D/T rating showing all the caches that meet the requirements.
  • For nine of the caches on your list, include what type (i.e., Traditional, Virtual, EarthCache) of cache it is. Make sure each of the nine required cache types are included.
  • After you have posted your note with the list, please find and log the final.

To quote Kealia: "This should be fun and I'm counting on the honor system for sticking to the rules. . . . I will spot check the finds, but don't want to have to be the cache police and check every find. Please "play" fair and have a good time!"

Got out early, and did some hiking while it was still not too warm - this was the last of seven geocaches that I found along the way - see the statistics tab on my profile page for qualification information. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

Wow, that was fun ! I had not researched this cache before we headed here, expected a skirt lifter or bison on sign - but what a great idea and area to finish this great challenge. Our proof can be seen in public profile

KCCG has used Project-GC to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.

slog:
I have:
ok:19 total loops of 1 needed
ok:9 different types found of the 9 needed

Kicking off the summer with a great American road trip to celebrate M4ISU’s belated birthday!  After months of planning, I am finally on the road with Stephenjha as my copilot.  I am logging as we go which makes it easier to keep track of the HUGE playlist we are hoping to accomplish.  If all goes well, I’ll drive 2500+ miles, add 50+ new counties, see 5 different states, find some cool cemeteries, increase my Fizzy and Jasmer progress, find 20+ virtuals, a handful of Earthcaches, a Wherigo, and maybe a webcam or 2!  It’s going to be a crazy weekend!

TFTC. SL. Thanks for placing this hide for my enjoyment, I really appreciate your effort! CACHE ON!!!

An entirely appropriate spot for a difficult challenge. I hate challenge finals that are lamp-skirts or guardrails or the like. This took me to an interesting spot that I probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. We're in Colorado and Utah on vacation and headed over to Golden today to look around. Of course I had to come grab this one since we were so close!

As you can see from my profile, I do indeed qualify for the challenge. The cache is in great shape!

Thanks!

Colorado Road Trip!

Headed out for a long weekend road trip with a small number of hand picked caches. I headed south to Topeka and then to Colorado Springs, next to Cheyenne and Rapid City before heading home. I camped most of the way when I could find campgrounds. The scenery was incredible and the hikes in the mountains worth the trip. All these caches made the trip worth every minute!

Thanks Greasepot for the cache!

It feels good to finally qualify and log this cache! Some of those grid spots are REALLY tricky to track down!

Found it at 1232.
I spent about 5 minutes looking around for a cache container, then caved and looked at the hint. Actually, just a glance at the first few important words did the trick, and I found the cache container in just seconds. It would be somewhat tough to spot normally!

I filled my D/T grid over a year ago, but I combed my finds and compiled this list of qualifiers per this challenge's rules. None are Megas, APEs, or Locationless, per the rules. The nine required types are flagged in (). D/T prefixes each entry.

I can’t believe we finally finished this challenge. When we first started geocaching we had no idea about this challenge. A few months back we realized how close we were to finishing this challenge. That was our mission... and yesterday we did it!!! So today is the day we came to find an log this challenge. Here is a photo of our qualifications and our statuary public on project-gc. This gets a day for the location and for this awesome challenge.

Some may say we are crazy, but this game/hobby is one of the greatest gifts. Who doesn’t love a great scavenger hunt. Hiking, biking or driving hundreds of miles to sign our name on a piece of paper. This brings us a lifetime of joy.

Thanks for placing this cache and keeping our recreation going. SL/with PoshCacher/MagicCacher.Tftc

I completed the Fizzy challenge almost a year ago, and whenever I'm in a new area I look to see if there's a relevant challenge cache (especially since it's about the only major type of challenge I qualify for!) The area is really lovely, complete with a couple of stone labyrinths. While in the area, we set out to find a few other caches before calling it a day.

I was out in Denver for a work conference (my first time in the area) and was joined by Lizzybeth13 to spend a few extra days visiting friends and finding caches. Today we took a drive up to Boulder to see some of the Pearl St area, later heading south to Golden for some hiking and caching. Thanks for placing this one

I used to keep track of every challenge cache in the U.S., so when I realized Colorado's original WRC challenge was only a short detour from Golden, I definitely put it on the list. Since mdawaffe doesn't qualify yet, I left him catching shiny squirtles downtown while I grabbed the final. With all the river tubers, parking was at a premium on this hot weekend afternoon, but I managed to find a spot at the trailhead. I was very thankful for the satellite map that offered a much easier approach than scrambling straight uphill, and I followed the path past the cache to the fun labyrinth before doubling back to the coordinates once I was at the correct elevation. As the sun beat down, I definitely appreciated the helpful hint to minimize the search, and the nicely camo'd container didn't take long to find. I happily celebrated the find and added my name to the log. I started caching at the end of 2006, and I finished the requirements for the original Fizzy Challenge by the end of 2009, after a 6-month concerted push spurred on by a planned visit to that final with my already-qualified mother in January 2010. Since then I've looped my grid several more times, and I've definitely enjoyed the wide variety of wonderful caches and crazy adventures covering the D/T spectrum. With no date restrictions, my qualifications are readily available on my profile, and thanks so much for the fun!

Out from Atlanta exploring Colorado with FLtravelers for a few days. He was able to finish all his counties, while I made more progress on the state. Lots of fun caches were found along the way, including this one.

zanna has used Project-GC to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.

I have 3 total loops of 1 needed.
