The end of the line, the top of Mount Pence! There is a nice big pulloff which offers plenty of parking off of Squaw Pass road. This cache involves a farily short under 3 miles roundtrip hike to the top of Mount Pence, but it also includes almost a thousand feet in elevation change. There is a decent trail system all the way to the top, with a little bit of bushwacking involved but nothing crazy. It's just a steady climb up, up, up and the final few hundred feet someone has marked the trail with blue and red tape. The payoff at the end is some pretty spectatcular views, as well as a few other interesting things going on up here! The cache itself is very well hidden in plain sight and some would consider evil, plan on spending some time. Please mark your car positon or use the other caches as waypoints back down, it's really easy to get turned around up here! As always with caching in the mountains your GPS will be a little bit crazy, please make sure you have great footware, plenty of water and a rain jacket. The weather can really be a factor up here, so start your hike early to avoid afternoon Thunder storms. Happy Hunting, enjoy your views and GOOD LUCK!

08/18/2020 By GeoDog74 After Greasepot failed to find after an hour, I have upped the D factor to 5, and have updated the hint to aid in finding.....It's still a tough one.....Good Luck!
08/17/2020 By Greasepot Looked for an hour and then gave up. I had help from the FTFer, but still couldn't find it. Evil Picot tubes in the woods are not my jam. Thanks! I'll put a watch on this and see if anybody else finds it. Parking coords would be good to add to this one N 39 40.792 W 105 26.146 I couldn't tell from the hint which rock was the "lone rock", but the FTFer helped me with that.
08/14/2020 By COHodag Day 3 of Self-Quarantine/Physical Distancing was spent on Mt Pence. There's an old geocaching saying, "You always find the trail on the way back from the cache." Was very true today, but I had the forest to myself AND snagged the FTF! Thanks, GeoDog74!
