Amendment XI: Lawsuits against states

The Eleventh Amendment was proposed on March 4, 1794, and ratified on February 7,1795. However, the amendment was not proclaimed until 1798 because of delays that occurred in certifying the ratification.

The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State.

Greetings from Michigan! We're in town for a few days visiting our daughter and son-in-law and took a few minutes this Fathers Day afternoon to find a few caches...all along one road. Smile This was our fifth of the five finds. Thanks for the Sunday fun!
