Newlin Creek has always been my favorite hike. It is about 2200 feet of elevation and 7.75 miles out and back. It is a mostly shaded trail in the woods and you get the opportunity to cross the stream about 16 times out and 16 times coming back. There is an old sawmill about 2/3 of the way up that is pretty interesting.. 4 wheel drive to trailhead is needed but there is parking about a quarter to half mile before that for 2 wheel drive cars.

Didn't find it 09/04/2023 By EJKPBR
It's a bust. An eight mile hike and then a DNF is the worst. And I couldn't find the cache at the saw mill either. I did find the cache in the parking area, so at least I found something.
I spent so long looking for a 1.5 Difficulty cache to no avail (at least 1.5 hours) that I ended up hiking the last 3/4 of the way back to the car in the dark. And this is not a trail to be doing in the dark. I did have a headlamp so I wasn't totally in the dark.
I thought I had given myself enough time to get back in the daylight, but hadn't expected the search to be so lengthy. I would've explored more area up there (in case the coords were off) but I wanted to at least get back to the saw mill before dark.
The search took me all over by this area near a cliff. I searched every tree within 100' and then checked all the rocks that were at least 4'tall. Even climbed out on some ledges.
I just didn't see anything near the posted coords.
