This section of the Colorado Trail goes over the beautiful 10 mile range. The cache is on the Colorado Trail  about 5.5 miles from the Breckenridge Trailhead or 7 miles from the Copper Trailhead.

The cache is a small pill bottle hidden in a 4 foot hollow log section, covered by rocks.  It's about 150 feet off the Colorado trail  We did a one way hike, starting at Copper.  There is a beautiful meadow filled with wildflowers near the cache.  From the cache site is is about 5.5 miles from the Breckenridge  trailhead and 7 miles from the Copper Trailhead.  From the cache site to Copper the trail is amazing.

A challenging jaunt along Segment 7 today over to Copper Mountain Resort. Right after finding the cache, I yielded to some mountain bikers right at the creek; and proceeded to watch in agony as two of them flipped over their handlebars. Poor fellas. Thanks for the cache!

This is our type of cache - a nice hike and an easy find. We went to it from Miner's Creek Road. This is a 4WD road that starts around Rainbow Lake in Frisco. You can drive to the Miner's Creek Trailhead which is also the Colorado Trail. The cache is about 1.33 miles from the trailhead. We parked about 2 miles from the trailhead and had about a 3 1/4 mile hike with about 1800 ft of elevation gain.

Awesome hike, great views, easy enough find. I need to camp here someday. Wasn't sure if I had actually found it though. Didn't have a pen so I left one with it.
